Don’t miss this and make sure you have several hours. We loved The quiet, cooler shaded walk through the park. Enjoyed watching the stuffers and people floating through the river. Ended up at the beer garden with scenic views of the lake, swans and people enjoying the paddle boats.

The wave at river and people surfing is amazing. I had opportunity to see it in sunday around noon and seems that many persons goes to practice their favorite sport into this nice city. There were 15 or 16 boys and girls surfing. Amazing!!!

Great space to relax from your sightseeing.
Great space to relax from your sightseeing. Be able to watch the surfers or to sun bathe on the expansive lawns or cool down and swim in the river. You can take a chilled ride by horse cart or rickshaw. If you fell peckish or need to refuel there is ample opportunities at the beer gardens.

The Chinese Beer Garten has great food and beer and a wonderful playground with a working antique carousel. A band plays from the Chinese Tower that gives it it's name. There is a small home just off the path from it that is used as a children's center. The public playground behind it has a merry-go-round, hammocks and a climbing structure that my kids (5 and 8) really loved. We made a return trip just for that park. Try and catch one (or both) of the surfing spots in the park. Wander freely but if you have younger kids watch for bike riders as they are fast and furious. If you see NOTHING ELSE in Munich you MUST SEE THIS PLACE! Fantastic park with the most well manned dogs off lease I've ever seen. Enjoy a wonderful lunch at the Japanese Tea structure - you won't regret it.

Underground and English Garden are also just a short walk. The welcome from the staff is first class. Breakfast is marvellous, and the rooms are very clean and very spacious.
