I loved it! I staye dclose by so I had the benefit to see the Eiffel Tower several times, night and day, from and a distance and from close by! What a piece of human innovation! I was trying to imagine its designer, that designed it on paper, and then all the men that worked to install it!.. in 1866 or so! What an amazing piece of work!
You absolutely must book to see the 2nd floor or you will risk standing in endless queues that badly underestimate how long you will be standing there and then the trip will book out. This was what happened to us in early September. It was extremely disappointing.
Pre-book your tickets as it is very difficult to get tickets on the spot. Amazing architectural marvel and great views of the city from the top. Lovely restaurants in level 1 and 2 and a bar at the top most level. If you fancy some workouts, you can climb the stairs from the bottom to level 2. The gardens outside of the Eiffel tower are great for taking pictures. Tip: Go there early in the summers as crowds are less.
We saw the beautiful fireworks on the "Bastille Day" celebration although couldnt go right up to the Eiffel Tower grounds. We returned there the next day and the Eiffel Tower is such an amazing sight every time I visit Paris.
We did a top of Eiffel town tour. Not too impressed. It is better to see the night and day views of Eiffel from afar as you get better pictures. You can appreciate the architecture from near but it was not much fun on top. Even the little restaurant sucked. Burj Khalifa on top was better.
Have a picnic in the gardens. Wait for it to get dark and then make sure you are there on the hour as it twinkles for 5 minutes every hour. It is safe as there are a lot of people around. There is a supermarket nearby (google maps) so you don't have to take everything for picnic!
18th arr., Paris
Perfect location, exactly what we were looking for on the top floor of an apartment building in Montmartre with cooking facilities and views over Paris (the real selling point!) Beautiful area to explore, and a short walk to the metro station (Abbesses) to easily travel around the city. We mainly walked, and it was about an hour to the Eiffel Tower, 40 minutes to the Louvre with lot's of great places to stop on the way. Owner of the property was very helpful and recommended local places for us to go
Beds were really comfortable. The view on the street was really nice, could really feel Parisian vibes. The distance to the Louvre, Notre-Dame, d'Orsay museum, Rodin museum was perfect for a 25-35 minutes stroll. Once you leave the hotel, you can already see the tip of the Eiffel tower which is a nice touch as well. Big plus for a really nice staff and a great breakfast. The croissants and baguettes were unbelievably tasty!
The hotel is located about a 15 minute walk from the Eiffel Tower and quite near a stop for the hop on hop off buses, which made transport around the city easier. We were placed on the 30th floor with great rooms of the city, very large and comfy beds and the breakfast was good the next day. Would definitely stay here again when visiting Paris.
16th arr., Paris
Spacious apartment for price for which you could afford 3-star hotel with room at least 3 times smaller. The apartment is fully equipped (kitchen, wardrobe, iron, ironing board, hair dryer etc.). Location is fantastic, close to Trocadero and Eiffel Tower, with many good eating options nearby. Good communication with the host. Fully recommended
Well located small hotel near the Eiffel Tower. As in most Parisian hotels, the room was not much larger than the comfortable large double bed but renovated and well appointed. I am always surprised how many amenities such hotels can squeeze onto such a small surface. The breakfast was surprisingly elaborate for its price.
The location of the hotel is superb, walking distance to Eiffel Tower and metro stations, the hotel was always clean, the staff were all very approachable and made the stay enjoyable. For value of money this hotel offered everything we needed, cleanliness, comfort and a good location to sightsee / enjoy Paris.
Friendly staff Clean hotel room Comfortable bed Location is excellent - close to Eiffel tower straight walk 5-10mins, right beside metro and surrounded by stores such as pharmacy, department store, shops and cafes. Light ambience and buzz Nice area of Paris Would recommend to a friend and would stay again
The Hotel provides a fantastic experience if you're into city views. At 110m we were able to see a lot of Paris. The top floor (130m) houses the bar and restaurant. It provides the same sort of views as the Eiffel tower, but from your own bed! Ismail was super attentive and solved our parking issues.
The room 62 on the 6.floor with view to the Eiffel Tower is really nice! Spacious room (which is not easy in Paris), very comfotable bed, new shiny bathroom with toiletries from L'Occitane and though the Metro line 6 runs right in front of the hotel it is quiet. Delicious croissant at breakfast.
Good budget hotel in the center of Paris. Near the Eiffel Tower and other attractions. It is good to stay if you want to be closer to the central sights of Paris.
if one goes to the Louvre you acquire headsets. It is pretty amazing viewing a painting of Napoleon crowning Josephine and the historical significance of this amazing piece of art is explained in the most beautiful artistic voice. Captivating... , not just this one painting the whole museum of priceless treasures. I felt honoured to view this amazing collection. The artifacts are breathtaking. It is amazing riding a double decker bus and wearing a headset. Two trips around the city and you are most familiar with the sights and their historical significance to start your journey. Plaques in doorways and on statue's leave the visitor a good over view of the past. A trip to Versailles again headsets that advise the visitors the past. The streets, the cobblestones the architecture, the open markets and cafe's, the preservation of the past intact is so very amazing to a first time visitor. Paris is exciting! Paris is busy. Paris is steeped in culture and is bigger than life itself. I stood beneath the Eiffel Tower and looked up trying to imagine the past and the men that built this magnificent structure. The residents of Paris make their city come to life. They are proud of their city. Very clean and orderly.
Skip the Louvre & the Champs-Elysees, stroll the Tuilleries and the Latin Quarter instead, & talk to people, but remember you're in THEIR country so learn some basic French (please, thank you, G'day, G'eve, etc.) - you'll find a lot of people who speak English. Use the Metro and the "river taxi" (that's what I call it, anyway). DO enjoy cafe au lait often at outdoor cafes, look at around and up at the old buildings, take your time and soak it all in. Don't waste money on 4 & 5, or even 3 - star hotels & "fancy" restaurants - see where the most French are eating and try those places. But, I'm biased and fluent in the language. One can "do" Paris in 3 days - Musee d'Orsay, Musee Marmottan (Monets!!!), Sacre Coeur, Eiffel Tower & Notre Dame, and if you must, the Arc de Triomphe, but it's not worth the hassle). Skip Versailles, go to Fountainbleau (you can get a R/T ticket at the Metro station (subway, train, bus). Hotel in the Latin Quarter.
Find all the hidden playgrounds, visit the jardin du luxembourg and budget for carousel rides. A good view of the city can be found at the top of the wheel/roue within the jardin des tuileries rather than queuing for the tour Eiffel or scycraper.
Go early!! For the Eiffel Tower we took the stairs which was fun for our children and the line up was minimal.
Louve. Go to Eiffel Tower early, they shut down access to the top when we were there because of over crowding at the top.
Paris at night is amazing, make sure you go to the Eiffel Tower at night and wait for it to sparkle for you!
