Tower itself is incredible, go up at night the entire tower lights up on the hour every hour. We got a lift up and walked the steps down. But book online as the booked advanced ticket line is next to non compared to people arriving on a whim needing to line up for hours. Be prepared for people selling tat from every angle!
Photo opportunity!! We went 2 times during the trip. We went at night when it’s all lit up - it’s STUNNING at night and the views from the top of the city lights is just beyond beautiful 2nd visit by day, used the cafe there & the gift shop. Brilliant views of the river from the top in daylight. The grounds around the Tower are also lovely. I went in February so the trees are bare then.
What happened to the spirit of Paris? Now it is encased in glass, you can't walk underneath the tower, and queues . . . one to get in, then one to go up the tower. The bad thing is the touts and souvenir sellers, who wait outside the exit to pounce, and you can't even walk around the area, as the souvenir sellers are laid out all around, it is awful. What happened to the French pride and spirit?
It was amazing! We went on a Monday afternoon without reservations. The line wasn't very long to get our tickets and spent about three hours from start to finish. That day it was overcast and perfect weather. I was very happy with our last day in Paris. That night we went back to see it light up at sunset. It was awesome!
As it goes with tourism there are alot of scammers. People will rush up to you with clipboards asking for donations after they have worked out your english. These are scams and just ignore and walk away.
We did an unusual walking tour that took us underneath the Eiffel Tower- totally worth it! I recommend doing walking tours whenever you can, so you can understand what you are looking at and have an overview of the history- it was fascinating. We stayed while it got dark and sat in a little pop up cafe - nothing flash, and saw the lights go on the Eiffel Tower- it was magical! There are many things you can see and do in Paris- and you don’t always need to pay- this was one of those moments which anyone could of enjoyed- and it didn’t have a price tag.
Great Location in 16th arr. close to 2 metro lines 9 and 10. Bus stops front of the hotel, # 72 directly goes to Eiffel tower, 42 and P.C reache other popular attractions. very nice and friendly staff, ALL of them are amazing people, they speak English and waling to help all the time. Marie is wonderful person who let me chose my preference during my booking at first. Souad, the manager of the hotel is extraordinary, very professional and supportive. I was lucky for being thier guest for my long stay in Paris up to 2 months.
Absolutely loved my stay here, and will definitely be back. The hotel is super well located in central Paris, and just 5 minutes from the Eiffel Tower. My room was modern and spacious, but the cherry on top was the stunning view of the Eiffel Tower and Parisian rooftops. Plus the bed was super comfortable 😊 And despite being in the heart of Paris the room was peaceful and quiet, no street noise at all which is a huge plus in Paris. Overall great value for your money!
Great hotel, in the heart of Paris. You will live within a 15-minute walk of the Eiffel Tower and major sightseen. The hotel staff is very friendly and courteous. Separately, I want to note the purity and attention to detail. My room was cleaned every day, and every time the room was left as if I had settled in for the first time. Of course, I was not very happy with the size of the room and bathroom, they were very small.
We stayed here only one night, but the stay was really pleasant. Hotel gave us the corner room on the 8th floor so the view of the Eiffel Tower was spectacular. The bathroom is super clean, as well as the entire room. We really loved the hotel. The price is a bit took high, but I guess it’s because the hotel is 200-400m from Eiffel Tower. Frame restaurant at the top has superb food and breathtaking view of Paris.
absolutely everything was perfect, the view to the Eiffel tower was just heartbreaking!!! the location is basically in the Heart of Paris, super safe zone, super clean room and hotel area was super stylish, fair parking fee. I stayed two nights, I went to to the beach and when I came to Paris i stayed again as we loved it so much. 100 points to this Hotel! Definetely staying here next time!
The location was excellent, the view from the winndow was amazing (we can see the Eiffel Tower and the metro line 6 that pass just near to the hotel above the ground like in New York) The bathroom was spacious, the lights in the room were wonderful The desk is beautiful, i recommand his hotel for you, and i'm looking forward to come back in this hotel when i'll return to Paris.
Very nice cosy hotel, tasteful and very clean. It's situated in the middle of Montmartre, wonderful surroundings, busy, lively, but the room was very quiet and we had a peaceful stay. The view was pretty from our room over the Parisian rooftops and a bit of Eiffel tower :-) The receptionist was kind and helpful above her duties.
The Hotel is very very nice and very well located. The Hotel has a very good vibe and atmosphere. the room was very big and had a view all over Paris and the Eiffel Tower. the bathrooms are also very nice and thought-through. I liked it very much!
Had a lovely stay at Odeon hotel. Beautiful hotel close to all the highlights of Paris. Really friendly personnel and comfortable room. We got a free upgrade to the superior room with a nice view on the Eiffel Tower. We highly recommend!
The Hotel is so close to the Eiffel Tower - 5 minute walk. The Breakfast was great and actually I cannot complain about anything, which should say it all.
if one goes to the Louvre you acquire headsets. It is pretty amazing viewing a painting of Napoleon crowning Josephine and the historical significance of this amazing piece of art is explained in the most beautiful artistic voice. Captivating... , not just this one painting the whole museum of priceless treasures. I felt honoured to view this amazing collection. The artifacts are breathtaking. It is amazing riding a double decker bus and wearing a headset. Two trips around the city and you are most familiar with the sights and their historical significance to start your journey. Plaques in doorways and on statue's leave the visitor a good over view of the past. A trip to Versailles again headsets that advise the visitors the past. The streets, the cobblestones the architecture, the open markets and cafe's, the preservation of the past intact is so very amazing to a first time visitor. Paris is exciting! Paris is busy. Paris is steeped in culture and is bigger than life itself. I stood beneath the Eiffel Tower and looked up trying to imagine the past and the men that built this magnificent structure. The residents of Paris make their city come to life. They are proud of their city. Very clean and orderly.
Skip the Louvre & the Champs-Elysees, stroll the Tuilleries and the Latin Quarter instead, & talk to people, but remember you're in THEIR country so learn some basic French (please, thank you, G'day, G'eve, etc.) - you'll find a lot of people who speak English. Use the Metro and the "river taxi" (that's what I call it, anyway). DO enjoy cafe au lait often at outdoor cafes, look at around and up at the old buildings, take your time and soak it all in. Don't waste money on 4 & 5, or even 3 - star hotels & "fancy" restaurants - see where the most French are eating and try those places. But, I'm biased and fluent in the language. One can "do" Paris in 3 days - Musee d'Orsay, Musee Marmottan (Monets!!!), Sacre Coeur, Eiffel Tower & Notre Dame, and if you must, the Arc de Triomphe, but it's not worth the hassle). Skip Versailles, go to Fountainbleau (you can get a R/T ticket at the Metro station (subway, train, bus). Hotel in the Latin Quarter.
Find all the hidden playgrounds, visit the jardin du luxembourg and budget for carousel rides. A good view of the city can be found at the top of the wheel/roue within the jardin des tuileries rather than queuing for the tour Eiffel or scycraper.
Go early!! For the Eiffel Tower we took the stairs which was fun for our children and the line up was minimal.
Louve. Go to Eiffel Tower early, they shut down access to the top when we were there because of over crowding at the top.
Paris at night is amazing, make sure you go to the Eiffel Tower at night and wait for it to sparkle for you!
