Pre-book your tickets as it is very difficult to get tickets on the spot. Amazing architectural marvel and great views of the city from the top. Lovely restaurants in level 1 and 2 and a bar at the top most level. If you fancy some workouts, you can climb the stairs from the bottom to level 2. The gardens outside of the Eiffel tower are great for taking pictures. Tip: Go there early in the summers as crowds are less.
We saw the beautiful fireworks on the "Bastille Day" celebration although couldnt go right up to the Eiffel Tower grounds. We returned there the next day and the Eiffel Tower is such an amazing sight every time I visit Paris.
We did a top of Eiffel town tour. Not too impressed. It is better to see the night and day views of Eiffel from afar as you get better pictures. You can appreciate the architecture from near but it was not much fun on top. Even the little restaurant sucked. Burj Khalifa on top was better.
Have a picnic in the gardens. Wait for it to get dark and then make sure you are there on the hour as it twinkles for 5 minutes every hour. It is safe as there are a lot of people around. There is a supermarket nearby (google maps) so you don't have to take everything for picnic!
Bought tickets for elevator ride for May 27- while at level 2 no one was able to access the top due to technical difficulties. Went to customer service and we were told we would get a refund for the difference. Checked into account and we did get 20 e back. The lady said there are frequent troubles.
We used our vaccination QR to access all places in Paris, spent 2 days in Disney. Enjoyed Mulin Rouge. Travelled to and from Paris on Air France, but was not allowed to climb the Eifel Tower as we did not have the green pass. We had 3 vaccinations, we had our vaccination certificate and still was refused to give us access to enter to climb the tower. Who will afford us another holiday just to climb the Eifel Towe???
The location is awesome being so close to the Eiffel Tower. Despite being walking distance to many sites the hotel is on a quiet street. The rooms are small and we needed 2 rooms for our family of 4 but the hotel was able to put us side by side. The rooms have modern updates, very comfy beds and nice showers! The staff was very accommodating and friendly and they helped us out when our Uber didn't show to take us to the airport. Would stay again when in Paris. Good value & great location.
Great location very close to the Eiffel tower, in quiet street next to the Champ de Mars. I love Béatrice and Emmanuel's apartments and I stay here when I am in Paris. The small apartments are fully furnished, including kitchenette, clean and very comfortable. The communication with owners is without problems, they send all the necessary info in time. In the neighbourhood there are many cafés and restaurants, several supermarkets, metro stop is very close... this housing is simply fantastic! :)
Hotel Wallace is a wonderful place to stay at in Paris, situated in a calm residence neighbourhood surrounded with both shops & restaurants. The hotel room is spacious & beautifully decorated not to mention the wonderful veranda with a view on the Eiffel tower. The true asset of the hotel though is it's wonderful staff, every single staff member went out of their way to make me feel welcome & made my stay worthwhile, always smiling, assisting & easy to chat with.
Our taxi found the hotel quite easily. Once we were established, we could walk most everywhere. Excellent location with lots of local shops, restaurants, salons, etc. to choose from. The public areas of the hotel are nice. The guest room was mostly serviceable, nothing to write home about. We did however have a lovely view of surrounding rooftops and a bit of the Eiffel Tower in the distance. The room was relatively quiet for central Paris which was quite nice.
The hotel was clean and comfortable. The room was small, but had everything we needed. The best part about the hotel is its location. It is a 15 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower and even better, it is right next to two pedestrianised, cobble stone streets that have amazing cafes, gelatos, fromangeries, fruit and vegetable stands, and restaurants. The streets are full of locals and it is very vibrant and fun. A real slice of true Parisian culture.
Our host was easy to communicate with and very accommodating. The apartment is beautiful, clean and nicely laid out with a separate bedroom and pullout couch in the living area. The apartment is located within a 5 minute walk to the Champ de L'Elysee and Metro which provided access to all of the Paris attractions and notable venues. It was just a 25 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower and Regional Train to Versailles.
The staff were lovely and very helpful during our stay. The location is excellent, we walked allover Paris and there are lots of great places to eat nearby. The hotel pizza via room service was very enjoyable and reasonably priced. It was also great to be able to see the Eiffel Tower from our window, even though we were very far away. We enjoyed the hourly twinkles.
Excellent central location in Paris, down a quiet side street a couple of minutes from the Tuileries. The Louvre, Eiffel Tower and Seine are all a comfortable walk away. The staff were really helpful and the hotel is lovely. Great food in the restaurant, too.
poor breakfast, there is a bakery next to the hotel where you can buy the same. Very good 2 levels room with a spacious bathroom (rare for Paris). Close to the metro and around 20 min with the train to the Eiffel tower
if one goes to the Louvre you acquire headsets. It is pretty amazing viewing a painting of Napoleon crowning Josephine and the historical significance of this amazing piece of art is explained in the most beautiful artistic voice. Captivating... , not just this one painting the whole museum of priceless treasures. I felt honoured to view this amazing collection. The artifacts are breathtaking. It is amazing riding a double decker bus and wearing a headset. Two trips around the city and you are most familiar with the sights and their historical significance to start your journey. Plaques in doorways and on statue's leave the visitor a good over view of the past. A trip to Versailles again headsets that advise the visitors the past. The streets, the cobblestones the architecture, the open markets and cafe's, the preservation of the past intact is so very amazing to a first time visitor. Paris is exciting! Paris is busy. Paris is steeped in culture and is bigger than life itself. I stood beneath the Eiffel Tower and looked up trying to imagine the past and the men that built this magnificent structure. The residents of Paris make their city come to life. They are proud of their city. Very clean and orderly.
Skip the Louvre & the Champs-Elysees, stroll the Tuilleries and the Latin Quarter instead, & talk to people, but remember you're in THEIR country so learn some basic French (please, thank you, G'day, G'eve, etc.) - you'll find a lot of people who speak English. Use the Metro and the "river taxi" (that's what I call it, anyway). DO enjoy cafe au lait often at outdoor cafes, look at around and up at the old buildings, take your time and soak it all in. Don't waste money on 4 & 5, or even 3 - star hotels & "fancy" restaurants - see where the most French are eating and try those places. But, I'm biased and fluent in the language. One can "do" Paris in 3 days - Musee d'Orsay, Musee Marmottan (Monets!!!), Sacre Coeur, Eiffel Tower & Notre Dame, and if you must, the Arc de Triomphe, but it's not worth the hassle). Skip Versailles, go to Fountainbleau (you can get a R/T ticket at the Metro station (subway, train, bus). Hotel in the Latin Quarter.
Find all the hidden playgrounds, visit the jardin du luxembourg and budget for carousel rides. A good view of the city can be found at the top of the wheel/roue within the jardin des tuileries rather than queuing for the tour Eiffel or scycraper.
Go early!! For the Eiffel Tower we took the stairs which was fun for our children and the line up was minimal.
Louve. Go to Eiffel Tower early, they shut down access to the top when we were there because of over crowding at the top.
Paris at night is amazing, make sure you go to the Eiffel Tower at night and wait for it to sparkle for you!
