The view from the Eiffel Tower is amazing. To fully appreciate it, I would suggest taking a tour that includes information about the tower and its history and also lets you skip the line for entry. Is it worth a few extra Euro to go to the very top? I'd say, "Yes!" Best Tip: GET YOUR TICKETS IN ADVANCE. The ticket line for those that aren't already ticket holders can be painfully long.
I went to the Summit and it was worth the view (during my first time there 4 years ago we couldn’t get tickets to the summit so walked to the 2nd level only). I definitely do recommend going to the very top if you can get the tickets. Going to the summit and seeing the view from there was definitely one of the highlights of my trip.
Don’t go there on a public holiday- the queues are kilometres long, waiting time is 2 and more hours just to go with thousands of other people up to have a glimpse of Paris and be sandwiched.., never aga
You don't have to pay to actually go in and visit the tower, only if you have the gumption to go up, then there a different prices for different heights. Otherwise - magnificent piece of engineering! 👍
I loved it! I staye dclose by so I had the benefit to see the Eiffel Tower several times, night and day, from and a distance and from close by! What a piece of human innovation! I was trying to imagine its designer, that designed it on paper, and then all the men that worked to install it!.. in 1866 or so! What an amazing piece of work!
You absolutely must book to see the 2nd floor or you will risk standing in endless queues that badly underestimate how long you will be standing there and then the trip will book out. This was what happened to us in early September. It was extremely disappointing.
The location is perfect, just 5 min walk from the Eiffel tower, perfect for families with children if you want to enjoy the lights of the tower during the night. Spring and summer days in Paris are very long, so the Eiffel tower lights turn on at about 9:30 or later. So you can watch the lights and get back to the hotel in 5 min, for the children to sleep. We travelled with our one year old daughter so it was perfect in this aspect. The bathroom was very good and clean. A lot of bars and restaurants nearby.
Some rooms bigger than what is usual in Paris, We stayed in rooms 403 & 404. Each room was very clean & had all the facilities needed. Bonus is the Loccitane toiletries. Also the rooms have a safe and fridge. Location is excellent with a metro station just across the road. Also Pasteur metro is just a 10 minute walk from hotel which bring you to place de trocadero for views of the Eiffel tower. Hotel staff were very friendly, welcoming and very helpful.
3rd arr., Paris
The breakfast was excellent. First day a person knocked on the door which was helpful. Other days no knock on the door, which was not helpful. Had to telephone as breakfast not received. WS answered immediately and we eventually received our breakfast. This apartment is ideal for a safe stay in Paris, 3 codes are given, front door, WS main door and apartment code. Very close to Eiffel Tower 20 minutes walk.
The hotel is quite new and everything is exceptionally clean and in pristine condition. The bed was comfortable, the shower was good, and I even had a view of the top of the Eiffel Tower. There was a tram stop right out the front of the hotel and the Porte de Versailles metro station was only a few minutes walk away. The area felt safe to walk around in on my own and there were plenty of cafes and shops nearby.
Great boutique hotel. Beautiful location within walking distance of Eiffel tower. Great restaurants near by, a convenience store next door, and on a safe street. Appreciated the complementary water, and soft drinks.Hotel staff were accomodating and informative on where to go for Dinner, and best means of getting around Paris. We would stay at this hotel again, next time we are in Paris. Highly Recommended A++
Fabulous location. Right in the heart of the 7th arrondisement, just 10 minutes walk to the Eiffel Tower, Les Invalides, Musee Rodin, Rue Cler etc. Wonderful shops and restaurants. Hotel is set back off the street, so very little traffic / street noise. Lovely staff. Rooms very clean and comfortable, albeit on the small side as is always the case in Paris.
It was my mother in laws first time to visit Paris, we had a beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower which was a dream for her. The hotel is the second time i have stayed there and always reaches more than my expectations. The restaurant was wonderful , compliments to the chef and room service was efficient and great staff.
The hotel location is excellent. The staff were super helpful and easily directed us to nearby restaurants and shops. The lady (sorry did not get her name) short brown hair that served during breakfast was super. The location to Arc Triomph and Eiffel Tower were excellent.
7th arr., Paris
These are comfortable Parisienne apartments, close to major attractions. The apartment we had was spacious with hardwood floors and tall, ornate ceilings. Large windows, too, which were nice and we could see the Eiffel Tower.
The location of the hotel is good, very closed to the Eiffel tower and tram or train stations. There are also places to have breakfast/ lunch/ dinner close by
if one goes to the Louvre you acquire headsets. It is pretty amazing viewing a painting of Napoleon crowning Josephine and the historical significance of this amazing piece of art is explained in the most beautiful artistic voice. Captivating... , not just this one painting the whole museum of priceless treasures. I felt honoured to view this amazing collection. The artifacts are breathtaking. It is amazing riding a double decker bus and wearing a headset. Two trips around the city and you are most familiar with the sights and their historical significance to start your journey. Plaques in doorways and on statue's leave the visitor a good over view of the past. A trip to Versailles again headsets that advise the visitors the past. The streets, the cobblestones the architecture, the open markets and cafe's, the preservation of the past intact is so very amazing to a first time visitor. Paris is exciting! Paris is busy. Paris is steeped in culture and is bigger than life itself. I stood beneath the Eiffel Tower and looked up trying to imagine the past and the men that built this magnificent structure. The residents of Paris make their city come to life. They are proud of their city. Very clean and orderly.
Skip the Louvre & the Champs-Elysees, stroll the Tuilleries and the Latin Quarter instead, & talk to people, but remember you're in THEIR country so learn some basic French (please, thank you, G'day, G'eve, etc.) - you'll find a lot of people who speak English. Use the Metro and the "river taxi" (that's what I call it, anyway). DO enjoy cafe au lait often at outdoor cafes, look at around and up at the old buildings, take your time and soak it all in. Don't waste money on 4 & 5, or even 3 - star hotels & "fancy" restaurants - see where the most French are eating and try those places. But, I'm biased and fluent in the language. One can "do" Paris in 3 days - Musee d'Orsay, Musee Marmottan (Monets!!!), Sacre Coeur, Eiffel Tower & Notre Dame, and if you must, the Arc de Triomphe, but it's not worth the hassle). Skip Versailles, go to Fountainbleau (you can get a R/T ticket at the Metro station (subway, train, bus). Hotel in the Latin Quarter.
Find all the hidden playgrounds, visit the jardin du luxembourg and budget for carousel rides. A good view of the city can be found at the top of the wheel/roue within the jardin des tuileries rather than queuing for the tour Eiffel or scycraper.
Go early!! For the Eiffel Tower we took the stairs which was fun for our children and the line up was minimal.
Louve. Go to Eiffel Tower early, they shut down access to the top when we were there because of over crowding at the top.
Paris at night is amazing, make sure you go to the Eiffel Tower at night and wait for it to sparkle for you!
