    A superb and fascinating museum.

A superb and fascinating museum. The water sprays have now been turned off and there are 3 galleries that allow you to walk along opposite decks on the ship, with artefacts removed from the ship shown opposite where they would have been on the boat. There are interpretive displays at each end with lots of information about the lives of the people on board. Highly recommended. There is a shop and cafe too.

Even though you can buy a ticket to view all attractions at entry to the docks, they were charging extra for the Mary Rose. Also expect any bags you bring to be searched on entry. Last time I visited I was with someone visually impaired and she found it difficult to view and get round as they were mimicking the light levels that sailors would have experienced. This ranged from a normal light level to near darkness. The lower light levels left her struggling to see where see was going and spoiled the experience. Also felt the museum was confusing to get around and a little claustrophobic.

A unique experience, having travelled the globe I have never come this close to an historical event. The presentation is inspired, these are not just inanimate objects, they are artefacts that project a past life associated with real individuals and in this respect present a real memorial to all that perished that day.

1 bedroom apartment was in a great location, clean and easy to find and park safely. Only a double bed, probably due to room size. Unexpected hidden vanity unit to dry hair etc behind the sliding mirror door. All cooking facilities were good and clean. Nice balcony available, but did not use as was only there for a few days and was out most of the time. Walking distance to the Mary Rose museum and nice waterfront restaurants.

Buffet breakfast had everything you needed for a good start to the day, room was well decorate and bathroom looked new. Location is opposite the Royal Dockyard, where the Mary Rose museum is, together with the Victory & Warrior ships, which was the reason for our visit.
