Entry to the outer circle is free.

Entry to the outer circle is free. Parking is £3 for the whole day, which can be avoided by parking outside and climbing a steep hill. The views from the outer circle are good and you can see the surrounding countryside, Salisbury and it’s cathedral.

T'was our occasional treat to have a picnic on 'The Rings ' 65ys ago . I am delighted that has not become too commercialised . Great place to be for Solstice / Equanox lines up with Stonehenge and close to Downton. Mill .Limited Parking. Harvester pub across the road and Campsite at Hudson Fields for part of the year.

You can view a section of Old Sarum without paying but you can't take away from English Heritage site so I don't mind paying. There are various English heritage sites so depending on what you plan on seeing, check ahead and see if it would be cheaper for you to get an annual.pass with them. All in all a very educating site, lovely shop where I bought some lovely earings 😊

We had a lovely long walk along the river, explored the castle and cathedral ruins. The small shop sold local bits and tourist stuff as well as cold drinks and ice cream. We walked down the other side of the hill and had lunch in the Old Castle Pub and then walked back down the other side of the river which was easy and pleasant.

The room was perfect for a family of four (two separate bedrooms, two ensuite)) with the added bonus of a soft seating area and small kitchen / diner with fridge, kettle and microwave. Breakfast was exceptional and served in the main restaurant. Lovely staff and a warm friendly atmosphere. Ideal location if you're heading to Old Sarum Airfield for the Go SkyDive experience.

The apartment is in central Salisbury, minutes from all facilities and attractions other than old Sarum, which is minutes away by car. Set in a lovely city its proximity to other major attractions in the Wiltshire countryside makes the entire locale a great stay. The apartment is clean and tidy, with plenty of room and a rooftop outdoor terrace.

Great location - on the (pretty) river, with a view of the cathedral over fields, only a short walk into town. Great restaurant location - a terrace in the garden. Recently refurbished to a high standard and the staff were excellent. Close to lots of major attractions (Stonehenge, Old Sarum etc) if people want to leave the town.
