Beautiful white sandy beach that is quite sheltered from the wind. Water temp great for swimming. No waves for surfers but you can access boats to take you to the breaks. Quite a few boat moorings but still plenty of space to enjoy a swim. Tanis fast ferries direct drop off from Sanua to Mushroom Beach.

Mushroom Bay has it all. People watching. The boat drops off and picks up here. It sounds like it would be busy, it is not. When the tide is out, it is a perfect place to walk and look at small tide pools. I recommend footwear. It is also perfect when the tide is up for just relaxing. Shopping and food available.

The listed “easy “ to get to Beaches aren’t ones you can swim in the ocean. Moored boats, reef, coarse sand and rips make it difficult so you are forced to eat at resorts so you can swim in their pools. Luckily our hotel had a gorgeous pool! 90% of the narrow roads are full of potholes ,winding and steep so you need to be a confident rider if you want to scooter around. Having said all this it is a nice little island laid back little if any hawkers and some great restaurants. They also surprised me with their steps to address climate change. Most places use non plastic straws, showers are reclaimed sea water, businesses are forming co- ops to recycle plastics and I even saw solar panels!FionaAustralia - 8.0Scored 8.0

Beautiful part of the island but there are a lot of day trippers arriving by boat between 11 and 3 so it gets a bit busy. Luckily there's a little 'hidden' beach just to the north so it's easy to get some solitude

The hostel was designed really well. Staff were super nice and dropped me off around the island for a much cheaper price than the moped taxis outside. I slept super well here as it was so quiet and peaceful. There is not a lot to do around the hostel but It’s only a short moped ride to the busier parts of the island like mushroom bay or Jungutbatu, albeit over pretty bad roads.

Our room was the traditional style and what you see a lot in Bali. There are two very nice pools - one that is a horizon pool right off the ocean. Breakfast was provided and was good. You overlook the ocean, but the beach in front of the hotel is not super swimmable but it is a quick walk to Mushroom Bay which is an amazing beach. The staff at this place were all incredible - special mention to Indi, Kadek and Gusti - you all were amazing and all went above and beyond. The location of this hotel was perfect as it is only a couple of minutes walk away from Mushroom Bay beach. The hotel also lets you hire a scooter from them which was so handy. They also have two swimming pools to chill by, both very clean. The room was lovely too!

One of the best beaches we found on the island was Dream beach. A bit more isolated than Mushroom bay, but only a pleasant 30mins walk away. Mushroom Bay tends to have many boats moored and travelling in/out at different times of day. Some quiet spots though.

Some food places are really expensive such as Sandy Bay, but others like Cafe Bali and Hai Bar and Restraunt on Mushroom Bay are quite cheap
