It is a very different type of park than you have probably seen. The Greeks used the existing large caves as a quarry for construction material. You can see both a Greek and Roman amphitheater. It is a very interesting park to visit.

One of the best place to experience Greek and Roman culture.

One of the best place to experience Greek and Roman culture. The theatre is still used. The huge altar (bull and other slaughter, for offerings) is, well, huge. You get a good idea of how things worked. It's a large site, quite a hike, and quite hot if it's summer.

I loved this place, 3 ancient locations in one place, what's not to like. However arena is very exposed so come prepared with items that can act as a sun or rain shield. We experienced both weather types on our visit in September.

The entry ticket is 10 euros. For this price one is entitled to have civilized toilets or at least a minimum cleanliness. Nope ! It was like the worst third world country. The park is on a scale from 1 (not interesting) to 10 (very interesting) somewhere between 3 to 4.

To be honest it is not worth the money as the theatre was boxed in with plywood to make seating for shows and many of the paths around the park are inaccessible. Also at the time of travel May 1 the park was not well maintained.

Great location half way between Ortigia Island and Archaeological Park of Neapolis (15 min approx..). Shops and supermarket nearby but the B&B is located in a quiet street. Huge and clean room with comfy beds. Lucy, the host, is lovely. She is a very welcoming and helpful and gave us many recommendations about restaurants.
