Matsumoto castle is a 5-10 min walk and there are many restaurants in the area. It is especially suitable for people who like to cook themselves. The kitchen is very clean and well-stocked with even a little toaster oven. The staff is super friendly and helped us call car rentals and restaurants when not speaking Japanese was an issue

The room was spacious and confortable, the roof onsen confortable and with a nice sight on the surroundings and the traditional breakfast varied and tasty. It is worth also to mention the free drink service active during the day. Recommended

The common kitchen was very convenient. There was common room you can use anytime, which sounds like natural but not always the case. So I did omfortable stay. The two female staff were very friendly! They spoke fluent English. It is about 10 minutes walk from Matsumoto station. There is a convenient store within 3-5 minutes walk.

They also have a shuttle service to go to kamikochi, and they also offer a way back to Matsumoto. Súper useful and efficient. The amount of food is amazing and the quality was super good. The room was comfy, and the partition I used had drawers. Friendly and helpful staff, they even let me use the shower before check-in because I took the overnight bus, I was really grateful! I wish I had tried the restaurant within the hostel, it seemed to be delicious. Quiet surroundings, good value for money for what you get. Would definitely stay here again.

They also serve the regional speciality, Oyaki. The bathrooms are spacious and the shower pretty powerful. The pillows are thick, and they give you extra in each room as standard. The location is excellent, really close to both Matsumoto station and the castle.
