It's worth the climb along the road up from the lake if you...
It's worth the climb along the road up from the lake if you arrive by boat. Once you get to the site, don't miss the path that can take you right to the top. There are benches along the way and we stopped at one for a picnic lunch with a waterfall view.

Yumoto onsen itself can either be reached by bus or better yet by walking from ryuzu waterfall through the peaceful marsh land senjogahara. The quality of the onsen water is amazing and among the best that I have ever experience in Japan.
