Buy the extra ticket for the torture rooms! It is worth your while. We spent 30 minutes in aw, with only a small amount of people. While the rest of the castle although beautiful, is crowded with tourists.

Nevertheless, the view from the hotel is spectacular. The hotel's restaurant is very good: try the platter of local cheeses with the Fume Blanc white wine. (Unlike in the UK, a cheese board is considered to be a starter in Romania.) Breakfast was huge - I think we only managed to eat about 30% of it. The staff were exceptionally helpful. Off-street parking is available at the back of the hotel.

There are shared terraces at every floor, as well as comfy sofa and fridges. The view of the mountains is beautiful. The staff is incredibly friendly, the hotel is run by a family and they treat like you are part of it. The breakfast is outstanding. I have rarely enjoyed my stay as much anywhere. However, it is in a beautiful location, with direct views of Bran Castle from the restaurant and balconies. And I must mention the bed - huge and comfortable. There is also a really nice staff, the best we have met during our stay in Romania. The food in the restaurant tastes great (we had pasta, ribs and lava cake). I prefer a sweet breakfast, so I didn't eat much, but my boyfriend was satisfied (there was an interesting selection of canapes and egg dishes). :)
