The food and service make up for the fact that the building and facilities have been neglected in terms of its upkeep and maintenance. Restaurant food is exceptional and the service by particularly Blessed and Sean were above expectations. When we complained about a substandard room, or a broken cupboard, or no hot water, they were quick to see how they could get it fixed. The staff and the restaurant are an asset to the establishment.

Everything was exceptional 👌. Ken made us feel at home. The place is quiet and relaxing. My 89 year old mom enjoyed everything, breakfast, dinner and spending time and also taking photos with Ken. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely go back to Palmwag , as my mom promised Ken.

Beautiful, clean and well developed place, the drivers seem to be very friendly and thoughtful people on the road, it’s also very safe but driving there was challenging because of the sharp curves and steep slopes.

There is a lot of natural beauty with stunning views of wolk berge mountains near by and the local wood forests. There is a lot to see and do. At Letaba we did a river boat cruise, saw wild animals that were tamed for the film industry (very well looked after) , ate delicious food, had a local coffee and lunch at Krabbefontein and went to see the Debangeni waterfalls. We also did a cheese-making tour where you can sample several cheeses made at the farm and visited the blueberry farm for blueberry pie. A beautiful place with a view is King Walden with a huge luxurious garden. Overall a wonderful destination to visit. Its also a convenient stop over to use to come back to Johannesburg from the Kruger National Park. Also great value for money. A secret gem for sure!

Tzaneen is great for an escape from the noise in the cities.
Tzaneen is great for an escape from the noise in the cities. It has a lot of places one can enjoy, from Top restaurants, amazing terraces, amazing views, and the fresh air from the greenery that's surrounding the entire town.
Friendly staff, excellent facilities and accommodating management. Not one of our requests was denied wether it was n bucket of ice or Bananas for our morning ride.
Breakfast consisted of a wide variety of fruits, yogurts, warm meats, cold meats, cheeses, egg’s, omelettes and much more.
The rooms were clean, the property clean and the Magnolia’s was in full bloom. The views from the hotel down the Magoeba’s kloof and up-to to the Iron Crown are breathtaking. We did not have time to enjoy the hiking routes but will visit again.
I couldn't find a place to book in and Palmwag showed up on my search. I booked 2x rooms for our overnight stay. We got there and was welcomed with a lovely beverage and our rooms were allocated. We felt at home from the beginning. The attention for any one individual person showing up, is impeccable
The food is absolutely amazing. The tranquility of the lake, exceeds the expectation. Will definitely be going back there. Thank you, Ria, Ken and Henk!! You have a gem in the heart of Tzaneen!!!
The food was 5 star!!!!!! The service was brilliant! Got treated like queens. Each waiter was amazing. The management is very attentive as well. The property has a beautiful view and the heated pool is lovely with an immaculate view as well. The service was that of a 5 star hotel. The lamb chops were so amazing that we had it 3 times! Every single dish we ate was amazing. The spa was lovely too.
My second time here was much better than the first. Stayed in larger rooms a bit further from the main block which was nice. The staff were very friendly and we really appreciated the suggestion to make breakfast packs as we would miss breakfast at the hotel due to an early appointment. The breakfast packs were awesome and dinner the previous was great.
Lovely rooms with a lovely surroundings and setting, very pretty area to visit ! There is a very convenient restaurant on the property serving fantastic home cooked food, also in a lovely setting. This is a great place to use as your home base when visiting the Tzaneen, Letsitele area. I highly recommend it !
Palmwag Tzaneen is a very nice guest house with traditional style rooms in a relaxing, natural environment with a large pond. Chickens wander around freely. Ken and Celia are great hosts, who are ready to answer your questions and help you whenever necessary. The food was also great.
The location really gives a feeling of comfort, peace and tranquility. Excellent landscaping, very clean swimming pool and a dam nearby. State of the art reception area and restaurant.
The rooms have aircon.
Loved absolutely everything. Hotel is pretty easy to find so great location, staff is beyond friendly & very helpful. Very clean, had a great time & will definitely be visiting in the near future.
The hotel is in Magoebaskloof with a beautifull view. Nice fires in the restaurant on a very wet evening. Restaurant has nice options for dinner. I did not stay for breakfast.
Food was superb, staff very friendly and helpful. Yes the hotel is a little outdated which might bother some but is clean and has a lovely charm about it. Beautiful area.
Paceful location on the banks of the river, very quiet just the sounds of the birds and the river. Very clean and everything provided for a self catering stay
The breakfast was superb, the restaurant staff and hotel receptionists were great. Service was good. The oxtail was not that good but overall food was good
