After nearly 2 weeks in beautiful properties all over the country, this one stood out as a real, though kind of luxe, immersion in the food, culture, and physical environment. Beautiful, sensitive, cool casual lodge architecture, amazing owner/host, abundant, terrific meals.

The cabin at Cataratas Bijagua Lodge was ideal. Surrounded by beautiful gardens full of tropical birds, the accommodation was roomy and comfortable. Breakfasts and evening meals, being variations on the typical Costa Rican Gallo Pinto (rice and beans), were excellent and tasty. And the sloth in the tree behind reception posing for photographs capped it all.

The gardens and trails are fantastic. Great value for the price compared to other lodges. Rooms are old and not the cleanest. But the price is fantastic. And greatly located for tenorio.

Extremely nice location of the lodging, it is literally in the middle of the rainforest. No need to pay for night frog tour as the frogs live on site and you can watch them in the property park. I would definitely recommend to anyone passing through the area to spend a night here.

Very charming cabins. There are three hikes, which can only be used by the guests of this accommodation. We were all alone at the waterfall hike of this lodge. The owner is very helpful and speaks good English. He even helped, when we had a problem with our rental car.
