The location is probably fantastic but unfortunately it was totally fogged in for 2 days I was there so I did not get to experience the outdoors and ended up sitting in a mountain lodge watching Netflix. All part of travel.

We stay at April for the snow wall trip and not really feeling cold in the room, not even using the heater provided despite the temperature outside is about 3 Celcius. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. You can also get a wonderful view of the mountain right out of the window from your room! The bathrooms were also really nice (like a Japanese sento). It was enjoyable to relax in the bath after a long day of travelling and hiking to the lodge. The views were amazing. We got to see a beautiful sunset before dinner was served. In the early morning, we were driven up to Murodo station so that we could hike up Mt Oyama!KateYoung couple

Meals at set times, limited access to lounge/cafe/dining hall at other times. Limited shared bathroom. OK for 1 night, but not an ideal place to stay indoors if you're planning a few nights stay. Lodge shuttle back to Murodo was helpful.

They have thought of everything and have also provided many little signs with explanations. The food was very delicious. A big plus was the hot tub that I did not expect in a mountain lodge.
