At The Ghost Lodge, 2 sets of French doors open out to a sunny deck that has sea views and a spa pool. Downstairs, you will find a fully equipped galley kitchen with a stove top, electric oven, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher and coffee maker.

The place is beautiful, cleanest I've seen & the owners are absolutely fantastic. You could never go wrong with the hot tubs & sauna, its a must stay place & I will certainly be going back.

Featuring views of the Tasman Sea, The Old Slaughterhouse Traveller's Lodge in Hector offers self-catering accommodation.

The Old Slaughterhouse Traveller's Lodge is located on a steep hillside, 100 metres above the Tasman Sea. It is only accessible by a 10-minute bush walk up the hill. The hosts can transport your luggage via prior arrangement.

really love the magnificent view there, no matter sunny day or not, I can just sit there whole day and still feel so pleased. They have a big and welcoming living room with two black cats and one black dog, they are all so friendly. Even their toilet and bathroom are shared, I can find certain privacy as the design is completely isolated from each other, that I really like. The host is so sweet and very helpful, helping us to deliver our luggage between the carpark and the lodge. Even the walk from the carpark to the lodge is uphill, We will surely come back next time as the view and the architecture of the lodge itself are so worth to visit again and again!

Such a beautifully restored lodge, clean comfortable, plenty of space both inside and outside. Was perfect for our family group of 12! Lovely location with the beach right at the edge of the backyard and gorgeous outdoor space to relax and enjoy the sunset!! Rooms are large, peaceful and comfortable, well equipped kitchen too! Had pretty much everything we needed.

The lodge exceeded our expectations. It was absolutely gorgeous, the beds were super comfy, the house was incredibly clean and tidy (despite the host being on crutches!). Super friendly host and gorgeous dog. We were able to bring our dogs which is always a bonus. Super easy access to the beach. The views are amazing, definitely recommend going down to the boulders and watching the sunset on a clear evening. We will definitely be back

We loved our stay at the Ghost Lodge. The location was amazing, and the lodge was cozy. We used the hot tub which was right on the beach with amazing views at sunset.

When you need a room on a beautiful lodge / house. The attention to detail was incredible. So if you just want a lovely night away right on the ocean, relaxing in the wood fired spa or feet up after the Old Ghost Road or Heaphy Track. Please dont pass bye this beautiful peaceful home. Simon and Guy are amazing landlords and their local knowledge invaluable. Thank you both for the best weekend...

Great host! The lodge is very clean and the decor interesting. We heard the waves crashing all night. Simon built us a fire overlooking the ocean as the sun was setting. Magical!

The facilities were excellent and we really appreciated that we had the ability to just have breakfast at the time of our choice. Just a great 'easy-going' lodge.
