Beautiful location in a forest area within a few minutes walking distance to a stunning coastal view. Bed was comfortable, room was very clean, wifi worked well. Host gave good instructions. Laundry facilities available at no charge. Great directions and recommendations from host.

Unfortunately we couldn't take full advantage of the setting because of wet weather. We stayed in Te Nikau Lodge which was attractive and comfortable, catering for six people in three upstairs bedrooms. We stayed in the lodge portion which is similar to backpacker style with shared facilities. Beds were comfortable and everything was clean. Good place to base yourself either before or after the Paparoa track.

I also had the lodge to myself so I had a big lounge and kitchen. Huge, spacious shower with great water pressure. It is set among the trees and you do have that retreat feel as you walk down little paths in the trees to get to your accommodation. Quiet setting. Good value. Was clean and seemed safe. Good free wifi.
