We loved the location, set amongst nikau forest. Unfortunately we couldn't take full advantage of the setting because of wet weather. We stayed in Te Nikau Lodge which was attractive and comfortable, catering for six people in three upstairs bedrooms. The large downstairs communal area comfortably housed kitchen, dining, lounge and bathroom. Basic equipment was provided in the kitchen.

Really interesting setup - huge property with multiple lodgings. The shared facilities were super roomy (massive kitchen) - and shared with some lovely people who didn't mind too much having a little one running around. Chris was super helpful with cot and generally with booking etc.

Wonderful location in Punakaiki. About a 10 minute walk to the beach and 30min walk to the Pancake Rocks. We stayed in the lodge portion which is similar to backpacker style with shared facilities. Beds were comfortable and everything was clean. Good place to base yourself either before or after the Paparoa track.

Lovely secluded setting. Easy access to the beach to watch sunset. Rata lodge was beautifully laid out over three levels with dorm (no bunks) in the attic. Great, relaxing vibes. Comfortable bed. Personal light and charging point. Towel provided.

Friendly staff. Upgraded me from a dorm to a small private single room (which was perfect for my needs) within the lodge. I also had the lodge to myself so I had a big lounge and kitchen. Huge, spacious shower with great water pressure. It is set among the trees and you do have that retreat feel as you walk down little paths in the trees to get to your accommodation. Quiet setting. Good value. Was clean and seemed safe. Good free wifi.

Te Nikau is nestled in lovely native bush not far from the Truman Track which takes you down to the beach, and a 5 min drive from the Pancake Rocks. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the lodge is well set up to relax and cook.
