Offering rooms with a lake view and modern furnishings, this property is 22 km from Kiruna and 35 minutes’ drive from Nikkaluokta. It features a cosy, bookable restaurant cabin with a personal chef. WiFi and parking are free.

The host, Johan, was really nice and hospitable and the location itself was lovely as it was remote and allowed us to gaze up at the aurora without light pollution getting in the way. Unfortunately I believe those were the only two reasons I was not entirely disappointed with my choice.

Situated only 5 km from Kiruna, Máttaráhkká Northern Light Lodge offers beautiful mountain views. Facilities include a sauna, a hot tub and lounge with a fireplace. The lodge is ideal for guests wanting to experience activities such as cross-country skiing, snowmobile tours and for observing the Northern Lights.

The staff was really friendly and approachable. They have been very helpful whenever we have problems. On the day of our snowmobile northern light tour, there was a heavy snow which results in us not able to catch the northern light. However, Adrian still went all the way up to the mountain in order to provide us with the best experience. The dinner in tipi before the tour was really delicious and we had the chance to talk to other travellers from other countries during dinner time. Aside from that, the home-cooked dinner in the lodge itself was exceptional! I am really in love with the dessert. Lastly, the room is on a smaller side but it's really cosy.

A beautiful lodge in the middle of a spectacular winter wonderland. The huskies were cute and our sledding was an amazing experience. Due to communal bath and kitchen the place feels more like a really nice hostel than a hotel. Great staff. We were very sad to leave after our two nights. Note to future travelers: The sleddog rides can be sold out, so make sure you book yours on sleddog.se before arrival!

The Lodge was super comfy and clean. The kitchen is big and equipped with everything you need. The dogs are very cute and I was allowed to visit and pet them in the kennels.

The guy who prepared the breakfast on Thursday and Saturday was efficient and friendly. This was a passable place to stay to explore the region, we had a bed, access to a bathroom and a shared kitchen. We had a rental car, allowing us to visit the surrounding, therefore we did not have to spend much time at the husky lodge. We got to see fantastic polar lights.

We really liked the quiet breakfast also the scenery was amazing and we even saw the Northern Lights right above the Lodge. One day we took a walk through the snow and enjoyed the quitness and the nice atmosphere. We also did a Husky/snowmobile tour which we enjoyed a lot and the visit to the puppies was also amazing.

The lodge has a beautiful vibe to it. Its secluded from the city so you can easily see the northern nights when the sky is clear, and thats such a plus. they have 24*7 coffee tea facilities which is so cool! Even the room is so beautiful.
