We wanted a comfortable and budget-friendly place to stay after 16 hours of flying, before and after a birding tour of ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK, and prior to the start of a safari to the larger parks. Kilimanjaro Eco Lodge fit the bill perfectly. Edith, the owner and host, saw to our every comfort and need. Our rooms were well-appointed, clean, and spacious. Meals were served home style and delicious. We enjoyed having tea and soda in the outdoor bar each evening. Edith has literally built the property and gardens with her own two hands and her pride shows and it is well justified. The views of Mt. Meru are as memorable as the warm welcome you receive from Edith and her staff. Give Kilimanjaro Eco Lodge a try if you are staying near Arusha before or after a safari.

The lodge is located on the edge of a meadow in a beautiful place. Both the lodge and bungalows are very clean and comfortable. I felt completely taken care of! I really like that the lodge is affiliated with the Watoto Foundation and provides training and jobs to youth who are supported by the Foundation, and that revenue from the lodge helps the Foundation as well. I enjoyed getting to know the staff, and Frank and Joyce were wonderful.

The staff was outstanding!! Pascal, Theresa and the Tour guide/negotiator for us after a bad car rental. They worked so hard and were so friendly to us..like a family. We were almost the only ones in low season. The dog I still miss. Such a sweetheart that closes you into his heart when you are nice, follows you, guards your room and leads the way to the watchtower. So Wolfgang the owner can be so proud of his staff. We did not meet him personally but your lodge is in good hands. The rooms are nicely situated and cosy decorated. We could even get an upgrade with bigger room with mountain view but felt cosy in the room we first booked. The serenity, nice gardens, different levels, the good clean pool, the forest, it felt like home for us. The bathroom is really well maintained. Decoration and furniture is logically put in the room and looks nice. It’s a huge yes for me!!! What others might say about the food taking long: it does not. Please just give your order before and if you say at 10 at 10 it is. They explain when you arrive how this works. It is a lot of food per portion, it is good and not expensive. Finally: also the laundry lady (who cleaned the room also perfectly) did the laundry so nicely. Thanks to all of you guys.

I spent 4 nights at the Vijiji Centre Lodge & Safari in Arusha. On the day of departure I would have liked to spend more days in this wonderful place. The location outside the city center of Arusha is very good and allows one to really relax and make quick trips to local attractions and markets. The Lodge resemble a small garden of Eden with very beautiful planting that attracts bushbabies & birds. The place is too beautiful to just disappear from there to the national parks. I would definitely plan extra time to experience the local life and small ventures like a coffee tour, the local markets. Or just to enjoy the outstanding hospitality of the whole team, the fantastic food and the pool. Thank you very much for the hospitality. The team at Vijiji Centre really gave me a great stay.
