The Lodge is 32 miles from Terulingua, off the main highway. A lovely quiet place to stay. Chalet was comfy and clean. The Bad Rabbit cafe does good meals.

The property was quaint, with a nice western charm. The Bad Rabbit restaurant located on the property was so good! We loved being right in the mountains. I wish we would have known about the special access road to a private scenic view behind the property that requires a 4x4 awd vehicle. Such a nice benefit that normal lodges don’t offer!

Location was remote. Had we known, we would have driven back to Alpine. Once we got there we thought we should have rented a four-wheel drive vehicle to get to our room. (There was no paved area within the lodge property, and there were deep ruts. Terrible for a normal vehicle, even in the lodge area.

Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Rooms were very clean and nice. The Lodge's location up in the mountains gave us an amazing view, particularly at night when all the stars were visible.

We had a great time chatting with staff about history of Terlingua and the Ranch Lodge. Fine little restaurant for dinner; terrific biscuits n gravy at breakfast the next morning! I also really appreciated learning the Terlingua Ranch Lodge has partnered with Big Bend and the Dark Sky program and keeps lighting to a minimum at night. In June I actually saw the Milky Way right outside me cabin. Pretty darn cool.
