We really enjoyed the lodge. It was nice and private. The room was wonderful, I really enjoyed waking up to the beesbok running around. Very close to Clarens and a short drive to Golden Gate.

The lodge is very family friendly with lots to keep the kids busy and a lovely indoor pool that allows you to keep swimming despite imclement weather. The chalet is also comfortable and feels like home with the braai facilities and large patio.

I liked the lodge very much. It had a nice location right in the centre of Clarence, Karel immediately made me feel comfortable and made sure he answered all questions you had. The room was comfortable and large with a little sherry as an extra surprise! Internet was fast and the lodge had water all the time, where there were water rationing in the town in general (you only need to know that the knocking sound when the private water is turned on and off is from the pipes and not someone knocking at your door :-) ).

It’s a lovely quiet place in the mountains - very lonely. If you seek silence, then you are right here. The Golden Gate Park is quite close with nice hikes, but there are hikes too close to the lodge.

The lodge is situated in a right place with easy access to the main road. Beautiful place and kids friendly although I did not bring kids along. Value for money.

Self catering so the kitchen appliances, utensils, cutlery and crockery was perfect and I felt like I was in my own kitchen. The location was clean, nice and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the main town. Loved the big (compared to the tiny TVs you get at other lodges/hotels) clear Samsung TV. I didn't mind the lack of interaction with the owner/reception because they are quick to respond on the phone.
