The estate was breathtaking when we drove in, I was in awe, so my expectations were high for the house (Mooi Lodge) we rented. The host Desi, did go out of her way to courier my glasses back to me in Pretoria which I do appreciate.

Staying out on a farm in a rural are does have it's charms. The Lodge offer pretty much all you need. The closest shopping is in Engen Sherwood Service Station, there is a Spar there as well as a nice coffee shop in the property next door. I got to the lodge in a rain storm, so I used the fireplace in the evening, it felt wonderful. The kitchen is well stocked. Even a French Press for making coffee was there.

We had booked our stay at Gowrie Farm Golf Lodge so as to conveniently travel to and from the Brahman Hills wedding venue which is just up the road. We didn't expect much as we knew we weren't going to be at the accommodation for a large part of our 2 night stay, but I must say, the friendly service we received upon our arrival was excellent, we felt right at home. The lodge has stunning views of the clubhouse lake and golf course which you can gaze upon during breakfast

The view from the lodge is absolutely beautiful. The host and staff were super friendly and helpful The unit was well equipped and the small fireplace was a welcome addition. There is a generator incase of power outages. This was a return stay and we will recommend Otters Den anytime.
