The nearest airport is Stawell Airport, 25 km from The Lodges. We stayed in the Blue Wren lodge, it was great. It is a one bedroom house with plenty of space for two, just 5 min walk to the middle of town. Kangaroos and ducks on the front doorstep. The best we have stayed in in Halls Gap.

The property is well maintained, secluded and is very well equipped. Somehow the 50-70 year ago ambiance works - the house was only built about 10 - 15years' ago we understand. We met Peter the owner and had a most agreeable chat with him. We are on a 5 week road trip around Australia and this was the best accommodation we have found so far.

Amber Lodge is a 5-minute walk to the centre of Mt Buller Village and the Mt Buller Ski School. Ideally positioned for skiing and snowboarding, the property is located opposite the free village shuttle bus stop and the Lydia Lassila lift. Exceptional care by Jo and Frank, nothing was to much trouble. Beds were really comfy, the little extras like complementary Tea coffee Milo all the extra bits Jo and Frank is what makes a stay at Amber lodge so easy and relaxing. We have already booked for next year.

The adult-only Deluxe and Boutique Lodge Rooms are located in the Lodge building. These spacious rooms include a flat-screen TV, minibar fridge, toaster and tea/coffee making facilities. Each Lodge room includes an en suite bathroom. The Deluxe Lodge rooms feature a glass conservatory ceiling. Guests residing in the Lodge building also have access to a communal guest lounge and sun room with wood fire heater, large flat screen TV, Nespresso coffee machine and plenty of seating. We found this to be a very beautiful place to stay for a romantic weekend. The styling and architecture of the room we stayed in was stunning! Rachel went out of her way to help us a number of times. The shared fireplace was a welcome addition to a sensational weekend. Also, the breakfast in the room was simple, fresh and quant, suiting the atmosphere of the accommodation.
