Hakgala Botanical Garden is 12 km from La Luna Cabins. We stayed here for 2 nights and absolutely loved our time here. Although a little outside the centre of Nuwara Eliya (15 mins drive), this is exactly what we wanted. We had some lovely walks to the city and also to Lovers Leap Waterfall. Kushan was the best host we’ve had, he was so kind throughout our stay here. He made us a packed breakfast for our early morning walk to world’s end, which we enjoyed at the top. We then had an amazing dinner in the upstairs of the cabins. He then offered us English or Sri Lankan breakfast and we chose Sri Lankan. It was by far our favourite breakfast of our trip to Sri Lanka. Dhal, sambol and the best roti’s, so tasty! The food although not included within the price was extremely well priced for what we got. The whole stay was incredible value for money. Kushan is a lovely person and I hope as many people as possible get to meet him and stay at La Luna Cabins!!

It features a shared lounge area surrounded by tea estates/mountains. The property boasts an excellent location for hiking and trekking. We loved the location and the possibilities to see Sri Lanka village and tea hill life. The hosts were incredibly helpful, met our every wish and provided delicious SL food. We loved our 3 night stay in the upstairs room with a spectacular view and balcony. Watching the mist come in and the sunset made up for the daily afternoon rain. If you are looking for a lush, green bit of solitude Hill Safari can be your place. Every morning we were woken by the beautiful music/chants from the village temple. We did not go to Horton Plains or Worlds End, there is plenty of adventure right at the doorstep. Thank you for making our stay memorable.
