Set in tranquil surroundings with large landscaped grounds and a picturesque garden terrace with mountain views, Tongariro Crossing Lodge offers uniquely spacious rooms with historic character. A garden is featured. The room was clean, the beds were confortable. The kitchen had all that was needed to cook a nice meal. Service provided by hosts was excellent and the extra we paid for the breakfast was well worth it.

Accommodation is in an old farmhouse, with lots of memorabilia and antiques. But what make it special are the owners , Sue and David, hospitality. Dinner, cooked by Sue, was delicious. I highly recommend you dine there. Great conversation, great company. The location is also spectacular!

Unbeknown to the host our Whanau live directly across the road so to find this gem was perfect will definitely come back

Ruapehu Country Lodge is situated alongside Waimarino Golf Course, and is just a 5-minute drive from Ohakune's town centre. Wanganui Airport is 1 hour and 15 minutes' drive away. Bernie and Marie were absolutely delightful hosts and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. The property is conveniently located near to the various activities in the area, which made travelling to and from a breeze! Breakfast was also amazing, and with sheep and alpaca at the property as well, I can’t recommend this stay more!

Plateau Lodge is located 15 minutes’ drive from UNESCO World Heritage listed Tongariro National Park, where guests can enjoy skiing, hiking, cycling and paddling activities. A daily, shuttle service is available hourly from 6:00 until 9:00 to the Tongariro Crossing & National park. Free parking is available. The staff was very nice, we had a problem with our lost bagagge in the airpot and they helped us in everyway they could.
