Rynaldo is an extremely friendly and obliging host. The dinner was the highlight. We had a three-course menu and nothing was left to be desired. Breakfast gave us the energy we needed for the ascent the next day.

This is a great place to wake early and look for the condors and many many other birds. The grounds are a stunning garden of flowers and sweet-smelling herbs. It was fantastic having a slow morning soaking in the views and enjoy the stunning scenery. The dinner was one of our best in Peru, which we did not expect! Terrific soups, perfectly cooked meat and wonderful flavors. We had herbal tea freshly picked from the garden.

The nearest airport is Rodríguez Ballón International Airport, 223 km from the lodge. we were three friends doing the Colca Canyon together and booked at the tropical lodge. We had a nice welcome from Alfredo and the staff. The rooms are basic but with a sufficient comfort to rest after a trek, and the shower is nice and warm. The place is really nice with a access to the river where it is possible to swim, and to the swimming pool with a nice temperature. Ideal to have a resting moment after the hard walk ! Alfredo prepares meals for 25 soles and there’s beers and a tiny tienda to buy stuff. Definitely a heaven’s place in a nice landscape !

The rooms at Paraiso Las Palmeras Lodge have shared bathrooms that come with a shower and towels. Bed linens are also provided. You can enjoy pool and garden views from all of the rooms. After trekking 11h we were looking forward to jump into the pool and eat. Pool was really nice: don't understand the other reviews. Dinner was vegetarian and was around 20 soles. Breakfast at 5am with loooots of carbs Room was OK, hot water, clean, towels, good wifi.

Cabanaconde can be reached in 3 hours, by foot, horse or mule only. A beautiful ecolodge in the centre of the oasis! The rooms are basic but comfortable, the hosts are extremely kind and helpful, and the food is delicious. Cozy and comfortable, a great place to stay after a long day of trekking or to prepare for the final ascent :)
