The Africa-inspired rooms are elegantly decorated and are fitted with a seating area, safe and mosquito net. Each unit features a private plunge pool and patio. Everything was perfect. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Our Ranger, Mnoni, was incredible: willing to go the extra mile, knowledgable & humorous. The room was incredible, always cleaned to perfection. The food was simple but delicious. The setup was just wonderful!

Set against a cliff above the Bushman's River valley, Woodbury Lodge is located in the malaria-free area of the Amakhala Game Reserve. This family-run property boasts two outdoor pools and the meals are all inclusive. I like the experience of sleeping inside the reserve. Very nice! The people working there are top! Kudos!

The luxury tents have a deck with private plunge pool and views of the surrounding bush. They come with thatched roofs and wooden floors, as well as a fireplace and minibar. What can I say .. the accommodation was great, lodge staff were wonderful - caring, professional and friendly and catered to our needs. I've stayed at other lodges in South Africa but this stay was more relaxed, it felt more like a family stay. We met some other guests we now keep in touch with. Our guide Roan was the best, passionate and very knowledgeble and able to answer all questions and find animals and plants we wanted to see. And of course the wildlife and fantastic setting of Amarkhala were the icing on the cake!

Each tented luxury suite has a private deck with panoramic views and plush interiors. It comes equipped with tea-and-coffee-making facilities and the en suite bathroom has a shower with free toiletries. Everything was done superbly well. From the service, to the food, to the decor and creature comforts. Wildlife at the watering hole behind the main house is plentiful - we even saw elephants and rhinos there. The safari tent style rooms are well spaced, oversized and well appointed. Special shout out to the guides that took us out 7-9hrs a day on drives and bush walks. Incredible experience overall.
