Mercure North Melbourne (previously Rydges) features 70 modern guest rooms, an outdoor pool and a café/bar. It is conveniently located directly opposite the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Facilities at Mercure North Melbourne include a sauna, spacious covered car parking for guests for AUD 25 per 24 hours, and 3 conference rooms bathed in natural light.

I reached the hotel in early morning hours without sleeping at overnight flight at all. I was very delighted with the kind consideration to get my room ready slightly even earlier than 2pm checking in time for my comfort. This is a good quality service focusing on customers satisfaction. There is nothing like this kind of consideration for exhausted international traveler like me. Top class..

The room was dirty, old, small. I think that the last time that they removed the dust from the room table was more than 6 months ago seeing how thick it was. I found a cockroach on the wall. The hotel has very dirty moquette in the room and corridors. Honestly I did not expect from Accor group an hotel in such conditions. I travel 2 times a months and I never found something worst than this. I asked to change the room and the one gave me was worst than the first one.

We found the rooms very comfortable the breakfast very good and the staff very welcoming. We have stayed in the Mercure little Bourke St for many years but were disappointed with it last year so decided to try Southbank and it was perfect .

I chose this hotel according to the google map because I've never come to this city, and it turned out to be very convenient especially with the tram system here. Also I have joined a day tour which ended also midnight, and I didn't feel unsafe to walk back from drop-off point back to the hotel. The room size is what I'm looking for and it met my expectation. The king size bed is very good for one person.

It's a little getaway not to far from the city but it feels like some place else. Food is good as long as they don't over cook it. Cocktails amazing best in Melbourne and that goes with Mercure hotels breakfast. It's a nice getaway and peaceful accommodation. Enjoy and let know what you think.
