Kingfisher Bay Resort offers modern accommodation, varied delicacies in its 3 restaurants and many bush walking tracks. It is located on the World Heritage listed Fraser Island, near Great Sandy Strait. We booked as we needed somewhere to stay and ended up wishing we’d stayed longer! What a magical place! Comfortable, clean, beautiful. The staff were kind and helpful. The restaurants and bars had good food and drinks and incredible views. We didn’t want to leave.

The Espresso Bar, KG Bar and Sixteen Antlers roof top bar are great venues to sit back and relax. Location was superb - only 5 minutes walk to Central station and a similar time to get to Queen Street. Breakfast very nice. Rooftop Bar was a lovely place to have a drink at the end of the day and the pool area lovely.

Mercure Cairns is located across the road from the Cairns Performing Arts Centre and an 8-minute walk from Cairns Night Market. Reef Hotel Casino is 3 minutes' drive away and 1 minutes' drive from Cairns Aquarium. The pool was nice. The room was clean and we enjoyed having the hot tub. We did have a couple of bugs in the room but it wasn’t a lot. The bed was comfortable.
