Looking for a property with onsen?

Featuring traditional Japanese hot springs known as ‘onsen’, these hotels allow you to take a relaxing soak in therapeutic geothermal waters. Traditionally, onsens were located outdoors but a number of hotels also offer indoor facilities for private or shared use. The healing properties of each onsen will vary depending on its location, with ‘kuroyu’ black water known for its positive effects on skin.

Staff was completely amazing. The shuttle to and from the train station was very helpful as we had a lot of luggage. The staff helped us get a dinner reservation. Room was great and beautiful. They provided snacks and breakfast including my husband who has fish allergies. Onsen was also great.

Excellent facilities. We stayed in the garden private onsen room and it was blissful. The breakfast was delicious and a beautiful and relaxing experience. The team were welcoming, accommodating and friendly. You can also make a private booking for the shared onsen which I recommend doing.

A cozy Ryokan with around 8 rooms, each featuring a private outdoor hot spring and a communal one for families. There's a Family Mart just two blocks away. While soaking in the onsen on the patio, a cat came by seeking some pets – pretty amusing! The tranquility is fantastic. The Indonesian staff, fluent in English, made our stay incredibly seamless. They also provide complimentary beverages, including a couple of beers in the fridge.

This was by far one of our Japan highlights, escaping from the crowds in the big cities. We only stayed one night on our way from Kyoto to Shizuoka, but we did not leave the premises the whole stay. Dinner, the onsen and breakfast were amazing and such a traditional Japanese experience the whole way through.
