The owner is really nice and speaks English fairly well. The room was large and very comfortable. Had our own heating and cooling. There is a communal living room that has a refrigerator, microwave, toaster, tv, karaoke machine and games you can play. There is a lot of maps and pamphlets you can look through with information about the area. Bathroom is large and clean. The cats are adorable and can’t wait to come and say good morning to you.

She took time to welcome us and explain everything about the property. The place was extremely comfortable (all new) and made us feel at home immediately. We recommend staying and would enjoy to come back. The location is great to take a walk by the river and go skiing in winter.

The house was spacious and comfortably furnished. The beds were very comfortable with high quality linen. The villa is close to Lotte Arai resort (about 5 minute drive) and the managers of the villa were extremely helpful in arranging transport for our group with a neighbour, who was charming and helpful. The manager also arranged dinner for us at a local restaurant which usually only offers lunch and this was a very special experience for us. The drying room was excellent for our ski gear. From the house are views of the surrounding rice fields and up to the mountains.

This place had everything that we wanted like cookwares, basic seasonings. Only ingredients were needed. We could watch Netflix with 5.1 speaker. The bathtub was enough big. I smelled the water hot spring but not sure it was. Room was so clean and great atmosphere. The owner and his wife were nice too.

This was one of the best stays I’ve had in Japan. The lodge is very cosy and clean, and in the most convenient location if you’re planning to ski. It is right next to Shiga Kogen Ski Resort, and there is free shuttle bus that takes you to GALA and Ishiuichi in just 10-20 mins. Mina and her mum were wonderful hosts, warm and very helpful. They really took care of us and were so hospitable ☺️ The cafe downstairs is fantastic. Highly recommend having breakfast there. It is simple yet delicious, taste of Japanese home cooking. Desserts are quite special and a must try!
