The beachfront Hotel el Velero boasts an outdoor pool and a private beach where you can choose to swim, lounge or relax. This was by far the best Hotel I have stayed iCosta Rica! Right on the Beach 🏝️ superb Staff ….if I come back to Acosta Rica I will for sure stay at this hotel again!!!!

Staff was beyond courteous and friendly. From Luis, Stevie at check-in, to the office manager Zaida (sorry if I misspelled), the restaurant staff is excellent too, especially one of the waiters who's name I forgot ("Jean"-something, sorry! With the tattoos). My room took a few hours after check-in to be ready, but I understand working in the industry myself. The staff was more than friendly to accommodate my wait, offered me drinks, which was not needed but appreciated. The pool area is so chill, I did not expect to spend as much time as I did there. Didn't even dip in, it's just a nice atmosphere with relaxed restaurant staff. The restaurant menu was also excellent, a mix of American and Costa Rican fair. I will definitely be back at The Palm if I come back to Coco.

Facilities first class. Pool and hotel grounds are excellent. Rooms are very spacious and bright. We were entertained by a family of howler monkeys that would come into the trees around the pool and feed on the mangoes. It's better than any national park. Plus, we have seen an armadillo and an exceptionally large iguana in the grounds. If you want isolation and a quiet break, this is the place to stay. Restaurant food very good, just the menu is a little limited. The hotel is a little isolated, and you would need a car to get around.
