Set in Ibarra and within 500 metres of Central Bank Museum, Quinta San Carlos Hostel features a garden, non-smoking rooms, and free WiFi throughout the property. The location was only a few blocks from the oral surgeon I came to see (who was terrific). The place was airy - rooms opened on to courtyards, and spotless. The staff was helpful, cheerful, and friendly.

The location is amazing, the pool facilities and view are wonderful. The staff are warm, welcoming and extremely friendly and made sure everything was great for our visit. They asked when we wished to use the facilities so as it would be just right when we were ready. The staff were very conscious of Covid precautions during our stay which was also reassuring. The food and breakfast were delicious and with a great view overlooking the valley as you eat. It is a really cozy place and peaceful experience.

We loved this place. Amazing plants, birds, coffee and of course people. Our child liked dogs very much. We would like to come back again. Hence we recommend this place. Coffee trip also very interesting - with passion.

Beautiful scenery in Imbabura.
Some nice natural places around Otavalo - Cascada de Peguche, Laguna Cuicocha near Cotacachi and Laguna Mojanda in the mountains/paramo. The Otavalo market on Saturday was well worth the visit. Lago de San Pablo was really nice and had some great birding. Great scener., Volcan Imbabura and Volcan Cotacahi are very impressive.

Otavalo itself isn't a particularly spectacular town, but it has the best hostal options for the area and is a great base for exploring nearby towns (Cotacachi, Ibarra) and mountains/volcanoes/lakes (Imbabura, Cayambe, Fuya Fuya, Cuicocha). The Saturday market is amazing as well!
