Housed in a former convent, built in the 15th century, the Parador de Plasencia hotel has kept its stunning, original architecture, including spacious hallways, archways and courtyards. Everything. Clean, comfortable, spacious, beautiful. Staff was great. The meal at the restaurant was better than the Michelin meal we had. We will be staying there again as soon as the opportunity presents itself.

The lady who I assume owns the property was extremely friendly and helpful, a lovely woman. The room and entire building was very pleasant, very traditional but very good quality. If I am in the area again I won't hesitate to book myself in here.

Restaurante & Hotel Rural El Mirador de Trevejo is offering accommodation in Villamiel. Featuring a terrace, the 3-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom. The room was a good size although only a view of the adjoining building. The bathroom was good; it takes a bit of time before the hot water comes through. Breakfast was exceptional, the home made bread, commented on by others, is very very good. We had dinner there; there are a number of tasting menus as well as a la carte. We selected from the a la carte. Food was very fresh, cooked to order. Car parking is on the street outside the hotel, but given this is a very small village, it was safe and not a problem. Our host was very helpful, and whilst English is not his first language, it was more than adequate when combined with our limited Spanish. We would most certainly stay there again and eat there.

The place is really great: clean and neat, perfect quite atmosphere and above all the staff ; Javi and his wife are just extraordinary and committed 100% to the guests. At night, you can see the Milky Way and all the constellations, and even see Saturn with Javi’s telescope. Incredible.

Offering a shared swimming pool, Hotel Rural Xerete is located in the Jerte Valley, 20 km from Plasencia. The guest house offers rooms with air conditioning and free Wi-Fi access. This property exceeded our expectations. The swimming pool was generous in size, regularly cleaned and open much earlier than most pools in Spain. The garden was verdant, with many birds singing beautifully. Our host, Anna, seemed to always be available and very happy to help out with the smallest thing - and so friendly and kind! We were delighted to be in the countryside among the cherry orchards of the Jerte Valley (and just far enough from the relatively quiet road that the occasional traffic noise sunk into the background on the whole). The breakfasts were pleasant and varied each day with different types of fruit and cakes/croissants plus fresh orange juice, meats, cheese, toast, coffee - all beautifully and quickly presented. We also had dinner there on a couple of occasions - the food was also excellent and very filling with three courses at a very reasonable price. The wine was excellent. The room was spacious with a lovely balcony overlooking the garden, the beds comfortable and everything very clean. Mosquito nets over the windows and doors protect from the mozzies around - bring insect bite cream and cover up if you eat outside in the evening.
