HOTEL ARVERNA VICHY - ClT'HOTEL is located in the heart of the spa-town Vichy, a short walk from the Opera and the congress centre. It offers free Wi-Fi internet access. This is a very interesting art hotel with wonderful interior, great beds, attentive staff. They prepared everything so nicely for the dog and we were impressed by the attitude. You feel very comfortable as home but with high quality of service. The hotel is not located near the spa but the town is small and everything is in close reach. The person at the reception was very nice, gave us the map and explained where and how we can entertain.

An 11th-century castle set at the crossroad of the Bourgogne and Auvergne regions, Château de Beguin offers a spa with a heated swimming pool, a landscaped park, and free Wi-Fi access in public areas.... We were very lucky to be the only guests at the castle. It is a wonderful large castle with any imaginable facility available and an enormous park, including an entire wood. The castle perserves the ancient atmosphere and is all visitable/enjoyable by the guests. Our room (the white room) was quite spacious, with two windows on the front park, a large canopy bed and a beautiful stove. The bathroom includes bidet (extremely rare in France). Staff was welcoming, nice, attentive person.

Auberge Saint Aubin is set in the picturesque village of Saint-Aubin-le-Monial in the Auvergne region, and offers a garden with a terrace, an on-site restaurant, and rooms with free Wi-Fi access. This is a family run Auberge located in a quiet village. Our room was spotlessly clean as was the whole place, we had an en suite which was perfectly adequate for an overnight stay en route to our destination. The owners are a delightful couple and Madame is a tour de force in the kitchen. We were a late booking but despite the fact that Madame was cooking for the whole village that night and frankly run off her feet, she still managed to put together a meal for us that was worthy of any upmarket restaurant, oeuf en cocotte with smoked salmon followed by king prawns in an amazing sauce - which sadly I never got the name of! The wine selection is excellent and my partner was more than happy with the draught lager. The auberge was slightly off our route but I had read a review saying it was worth a detour, so thank you to that reviewer for the heads up.

The rooms had aircon, were stylish with comfortable beds and the bathrooms were great with a spacious walk in shower. The staff were all very helpful and genuinely friendly. Breakfast and evening meals were available and there was inside or outside seating on a terrace.

Located in Saint-Victor, ACE Hôtel Montluçon is a non-smoking hotel 10 minutes’ drive from the medieval city of Montluçon. we have used this hotel several times whilst passing through the area. The whole experience is a 'step above' other hotel chains at this price point, from arrival though to breakfast and departure. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. Ace are our preferred chain by far. The neighbouring restaurants are good, and the nearby fuel station has competitively priced petrol/diesel.

The room was clean, comfortable, well kept and well ventilated. The breakfast has all of the standard components, especially good coffee and bread. There are a couple of good restaurants nearby for dinner.

The hotel was perfectly situated for the centre of Vichy ,shops bars restaurant's and spa's.. also for the old historical part and the lac d'allier...The hotel has recent new owners who have tastefully re done the hotel and bedrooms. I mentioned we were celebrating our 3 year anniversary when booking the room and we were given a free upgraded bedroom, which was lovely.. The breakfast was excellent lots of choice ..a warm welcome I would recommend..

On our way through France by bicycle, we were glad to find an accommodation near Digoin. We stayed one night in the wooden caravan which was clean and well equipped. We liked the seating area just in front of the caravan and the cosy double bed in the alcove. There is a pool, though it got quite busy.
