The village is close enough to the motorway, but still feels like a world of its own. The hotel and restaurant are the project of two former city dwellers, and they are the nicest hosts - as everyone before me has said! The hotel has a comfortable and homely feel, with interesting furnishings collected by the owners. Breakfast was delicious. Their stylish and informal restaurant Les Chimeres around the corner is absolutely excellent. Mialy really went out of her way to make me feel comfortable as a woman travelling alone, and Thierry cooked a genuinely delicious and inventive meal, frankly better than anything I’ve had elsewhere in France this summer. All in all, one of those unexpected experiences which leave you feeling you’ve been part of someone fulfilling a dream, and gives you faith in humanity.
