Lovely property, we travelled with my elderly father and he had the accessibility room and slept really well in the main building and had no complaints. The staff were excellent, room lovely and clean, breakfast was a full English and eggs Benedict, both cooked perfectly.

Just outside of Penrith, the Brantwood Hotel is less than 3 miles from Ullswater. Just one mile from the junction 40 of M6 it offers en suite bedrooms and TVs. This was a last minute booking due to travel disruption and we were highly impressed with the Brantwood Hotel, the pictures don’t do it justice. The staff were welcoming and helpful, the Hotel has many quirky designs in it architecture. The food, evening meal and breakfast was delicious. From a rating point of view it’s a 10/10.

Boasting an indoor swimming pool, whirlpool, and modern rooms, the 4-star luxury North Lakes Hotel and Spa, is located just off the M6 motorway. Interior design was amazing inside - very modern! lovely touches in the family room - little colouring packs for kids, their own robes and little juices and snacks for them too in the fridge, cookies on arrival and a fresh milk dispenser right outside the door was brill - especially to fill bottles for babies!! Staff were so friendly in the restaurant also. Will defo be recommending!

The Roundthorn Country House and luxury self-catering Mews Apartments are set in landscaped gardens, with panoramic views of the Eden Valley and Lakeland Fells. First class hotel. Friendly helpful staff, beautiful, comfortable room and excellent food. We were driving south from Scotland to Liverpool to join a cruise ship, unfortunately due to bad weather conditions our itinerary was changed and we elected not to sail. I rang the hotel on our way back north and were delighted that they were able to give us the same room. Would definitely stay at Roundthorn again.

Set in Penrith, 9.3 km from Askham Hall, The castlegate arms offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a bar. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The food was fabulous!! It was located near the train station so it was extremely convenient.
