Situated in Santiago, Chiapas region, Cabañas Islas de Tziscao is set 17 km from Chinkultic Archeological Zone. I liked absolutely everything! I literally have nothing negative to say. I felt safe and comfortable. I was so worried about getting there as I was a solo woman traveler but it’s pretty straight forward and locals where very helpful. Don’t expect to have service if you don’t have a local sim being that you’re so close to Guatemala. The hosts were spectacular! I felt very welcomed and at home. The fried fish from their restaurant directly from the lake is delicious and the beans cooked in a pot were just as great. The rooms were spacious and the balconies facing the water made waking up at the crack of dawn enjoyable. Always had hot water available when showering, rooms were clean, and cool! It gets cold at night but there was enough extra blankets to stay warm. I’d stay here over and over if I could! @travelingWithAYD on ig to follow my travels

Located in the Lacandon Jungle of Chiapas, on the banks of the Santo Domingo River in a natural environment facing the Las Nubes Waterfall. This ecolodge is like a dream. The location next to the river and waterfall are unreal. The food at the restaurant is also very good. I stayed at three difference ecolodges in Chiapas, and this was by far the best.
