Just 50 metres from Porto Ercole, Hotel Conchiglia is on the Argentario peninsula. It offers free Wi-Fi throughout and traditionally furnished rooms with LCD TVs and private bathrooms. The family that owns the hotel is very sweet and from what I learned are hard workers. They were very helpful with recommendations, and the included breakfast was better than expected! The room was very comfortable and had everything I needed! Great stay and fabulous people!

It suites very good to the trails around the peninsula. The staff at the hotel was so helpful. Ashley explained everything I needed and helped me a lot with bike and routes for riding. The room was very clean. It had everything I needed, even a table for work.

Family run. Spotlessly clean everywhere. Restaurant menu excellent and good selection at breakfast. Comfortable bed and plenty of areas around pool to relax in. Loved the hammocks and swings. Recommend visit to the botanic dry gardens nearby.

Nicely positioned hotel with beautiful lake views from patio and forward facing rooms. Best pillows in Italy so far. Quiet nights. Very nice breakfast with seating option in courtyard with plenty of room. Very convenient for evening stroll, restaurants and shops. About 2 hr or less drive from Fiumicino made it an easy place to reach first day.

Around 5 km from both Orbetello and Monte Argentario, Hotel Villa Ambra is right in front of its own private beach. It offers free parking, and a restaurant specialising in meat and fish dishes. Fantastic property! Very accommodating owners coupled with a very modern, beautiful hotel. Super clean, very nicely appointed with gorgeous views, spacious deck and everything you need. The on site restaurant is excellent- one of the best meals we had in Italy. Surprisingly good. Would return in a heartbeat.

From £101 per nightThe Argentario area is great - lots of day trip options, various beaches. The Gianella beach has about 40m of very shallow water, lots of different kinds of shells, great for small kids, but also for swimming further out. We had a ground level apartment with a backyard with trees - great for kids playing, keeping all the beach toys etc, two drying racks. Many chairs both inside and outside.

Simple, but clean and well located to reach the centre of the village on foot. Beautiful terrace on top where to relax any time of the day. Staff is always very helpful. We rented e-bikes from the hotel to tour Argentario on check-out day and could stop to swim along the way - once back we were offered towel and access to a shower - priceless!

Nice place with a fantastic (but expensive) meat restaurant. Friendly staff, good service. The location is good to go visit the beaches, small cities like Orbetello, Monte Argentario and other very nice villages in the Maremma and Montemerano region. The restaurant is very popular, so it bring a nice atmosphere at night.

Our first night in Italy amazed us immediately. The accommodation is located in the middle of peaceful vineyards. Staff gave us a tour around the place and a lovely Ministro suite. Breakfast was delicious. I am sure we will come back shortly.
