Hotel Restaurant La Lanterna is situated in a quite area, few minutes from the historical centre of this pleasant town in the Garfagnana region. Last week, while traveling to Tuscany, my wife and I lost ourselves in the Castelnuovo di Garfagnana surroundings. It was getting dark, and we couldn't find a hotel or even a place to park our car. After getting a tip from a gentle lady nearby La Lanterna Hotel, I decided to book a room for us through Booking.com without even getting more information about the hotel. What a pleasant surprise we had when we finally managed to get to the place! Massimo, who manages the place and met us at the reception is probably one of the nicest guys we had the chance to meet during our time in Italy. Super friendly and extremely polite and attentive. To be 100% honest, all the hotel staff was so nice to us, and the hotel facilities were so great that my wife and I ended up regretting having planned our stay there for only one day. To Massimo and all the La Lanterna staff, our most sincere thanks! Castelnuovo di Garfagnana is the place of birth of my great-great-grandfather, and a lovely small Tuscan city recommended to all those travelers looking for peace, tranquility, and beautiful Italian landscapes.
