Originally built in 1889, the heritage-listed Okoroire Hot Springs Hotel features an onsite hot spring bath, a 9-hole golf course and a tennis court. Love the room setting that made us feel very homely with lots of characters and all supplies we need the moment we're in. The Christmas decorations were really lovely around at the time. The area is very green, lovely and quiet with lots of old trees, and there's a trampoline and tennis and golf course for kids. Specially, the hot spring pools right next to the river are amazing, the feel of so close to nature in natural hot pools is just exceptional and unforgettable.

Kea Motel & Holiday Park is situated in Putaruru. Among the various facilities of this property are barbecue facilities and a garden. Both private parking and free WiFi are accessible at the hotel. Basic stuff of what you can expect. The lady in the morning checking the rooms was friendly.

Set in Okoroire in the Waikato region, Bridgehaven Guesthouse features a garden. This was a great little spot, only 15 mins drive from Hobbiton and a lovely quiet country area. Julie we didn't meet you, but thanks for the lovely touches, a couple of beers and ciders, and the home made bread and condiments were just beautiful! The unit was so spacious, great shower, comfortable bed, and that cow pic on the wall was perfect! Love this place! Great country pub, the hot springs hotel, is 6km away and was also a winner, highly recommended.

Boasting mountain views, Holiday Bliss - Kiwi Suite features accommodation with a garden and a balcony, around 42 km from Mystery Creek Events Centre. It was lovely to have breakfast sorted in the morning. Carmen thoughtfully left a loaf of freshly made bread on the bench and treats in the fridge. The house was amazing, everything you need for a quick get away. And the bed was super comfy.

The host went the extra mile to make the stay brilliant. Little surprise on arrival that they certainly don't need to provide.

Set in Putaruru and only 46 km from Zorb Rotorua, Maple Retreat by Blue Spring offers accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking. This guest house features a garden. Great room in a nice quiet street. Was easy to find, had what we needed and nicely laid out. Given we had several friends staying at different motels in Putaruru and hearing their feedback I think we hit the jackpot. The communication was really friendly and accommodating. Was a shame we didn't get time to sit outside with a cuppa as I think it would've been a really nice tranquil place to enjoy.
