The location was fantastic, in the center of the village. Our room had a view of the mountains, the staff were very attentive, the cleanliness and hygiene of the room were impeccable. Surrounded by the lush forests of the São Mamede Mountains in Portalegre, this former convent is decorated with several historic armours, weapons and antiques. Fabulous location and the hotel building itself is staggering - like a living museum. Owners/staff were very friendly and helpful. A really special place.

Magical place with views far and wide and beyond the Spanish border. Excellent service from a dedicated and welcoming staff. Restaurant host, George is absolutely delightful and genuinely cares about guests having the best experience.
