Built in 1911 and renovated with many of the original features carefully retained, the Grand Hotel in Alingsås is conveniently situated within 100 metres of the Alingsås train station. Very good much to choose from. Waiters supervised it all the time.

The hotel itself was a really wonderful surprise: the rooms were huge for families (separate bunk room for the kids), with the summer light our kids were allowed to play soccer golf well past 10pm, and the food was very good. I wish we had stayed more than one night and I will recommend it to anyone doing a driving holiday through Sweden (especially golfers!) Was very clean and as presented on booking.com. Owners were super friendly and helpful. Walking distance to shops, high street and lake.

Nääs Slott is a beautiful castle with an enthralling history and contains a complete and untouched 19th century interior. Visiting the castle is like stepping back in time to the late 1800s. We were able to have the entire south wing to ourselves. It has library, big dining area, 2 toilets and kitchen. We walked around the castle early morning and the view is just amazing, it is very peaceful and calm.
