Nestled in the Lubombo Mountains, Mabuda Guest Farm has been described as “the place of dreams”. This working farm offers a range of self-catering, country style accommodation. One of the best places I have stayed in. Ever since the first contact till the last minute. We were a group of 13 so we knew it wouldnt be possivle to stay all together but somehow Helen and Mavis made us stay in two beautiful units with great views and facilities. Since we were leaving for an early safari we had our breakfasts prepared and packed in the fridge waiting for us. The houses had many pluses such as water, milk, coffee, tea, plug adaptors, extra blankets, towels for everyone. Such a great experience.

The location is unbeatable! You can just sit in a deck chair all day watching the animals come to the watering hole or (passive ones) wander around the accommodation area. Rhinos, a family of giraffes, a giant lizard (I’m guessing), an elephant, impala, monkey, frog… on safari we saw lions and 4 of the big 5, vultures, even 3 baby warthogs! It was incredible and filled my cup. (I’ve been on safaris before but this one is more relaxing as you also get the animals coming to you)
