As this was our first visit to Jackson Wyoming, we were unexpectedly surprised to find it is much more sophisticated than we expected for a small country town in the mountains. Being the major township near Yellowstone National Park, it attracts visitors from around the world and offers a very high standard of shopping, restaurants and art galleries. The major attraction is Yellowstone and a minimum one day tour is highly recommended.
Cody, Wyoming is a great place of friendly folk, history, legends & buildings of the wild west. Go the Cody Trolley Bus too! Great tour! A big tick for the Wild Bill Cody collections, Natural museums & Art complex. A number of other museums, art & Photo galleries. Interesting sports Outfitters. Summer rodeo evening's. Good pubs & restaurants. Reckon it's the best gateway to Yellowstone Park to see the rivers, animals, scenery & those mountains..we got there without having to have a car! We did 2 days of Codyshuttle Yellowstone Tours with Heather our guide. Saw heaps of animals including a bear! The historic Bill Cody Hotel Irma is certainly worth a stay. Lots to do in Cody for a week.
Visit Wyoming State Penitentiary Museum. It's better than Alcatraz. Carbo County Museum just down the road is good too. Friendly town. Visit Huckleberry s for coffee. Western style restaurant on corner near Huckleberry s good for dinner. Hotel is in the outskirts. Don't go to the diner close by unless it's fo coffee.
Pinedale is a friendly little town with plenty of good places to stay. We stayed in Hampton Suites and Inns and also the Best Western. There is a great outdoor shop called Great Outdoor Shop with very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Next door is a microbrewery called Wind River Brewing Co which sells delicious beer (try the Wyoming Pale Ale) and burgers, salads, steaks etc. Pinedale is handy for the most poular trailheads into the Wind River Range (Elkhart and Big Sandy).
Love love LOVE Jackson Wyoming. The people are so friendly. Cute shops downtown, great ski hills nearby, and of course, the Grand Tetons. Nature and wildlife and landscapes galore. Ate at Lotus - as a celiac, I was very impressed with their attention to gluten free details.
Great little western town in the middle of every place you want to be in Wyoming - 2 hours to Casper, 4 hours to Cody, 4 hours to Jackson. 3 hours to Billings. Three great steakhouses and bars. Friendly people at every store.
Cowboy street shoot out 6pm daily Try Moes Original BBQ for food Good gift shops Pricey and lively area in comparison to other Wyoming towns
Charming place. Great place to stay for exploring beautiful Wyoming. Grand Teton National Park is stunning. Mountains. Clean air. Uplifting scenery. Pricey but shopping fun. Be back soon.
Laramie is typical of wyoming's towns with a distinctly 'western' style. Also, its home the University of Wyoming and there is easy access to a couple of very unique, mountainous outdoor recreational areas including Vedauwoo and the Snowy Range, both within a reasonable drive from town.
The Hot springs looked really nice, although we did not have time to try them. Definitely book one of the two hotels with their own mineral pools (which are also the nearest to the public pools and the State of Wyoming bathhouse.
Hotel was great for a one night stop on our roadtrip to Montana. More than adequate for a good night's sleep. Really enjoyed the surrounding area - took an early morning dip in the State run hot springs bath house just across the park from the hotel. Breakfast was exactly what you would expect. Pancakes are fun, I guess, coffee left me wanting more. The hot springs were cool to check out and there was lots to do in the immediate area. The Wyoming Dinosaur Center was incredible and well worth the stop and the entrance fee to check out!
Cody
I stayed with my 2 adult daughters and my 2 granddaughters, room size was small but sufficient for us all. Hotel definitely had an age gone by era about it, which was perfect for us. My big girls and little girls had so much fun in the outdoor pool, you don't see those everyday in Wyoming. The horse rides were the hit of the show for my oldest (almost 4 yr. old) granddaughter. Had some great visits with other guest. Well recommend to friends with kids that are visiting Cody. It was a nice stay.
Sheridan
The owner met me at check in and it's evident the family is proud of their hotel. It is an older building but very clean, newly painted & decorated, modest breakfast with COFFEE! A few things needed attention (light bulbs, microwave) but the bed was comfortable, easy check in/out. I will stay here again when passing thru the great state of Wyoming. If you want quiet, ask for a room on the second floor on the back side of the building, then you can open your curtains/window.
I stayed at a very same hotel on my way to wyoming in Burley, ID. The hotel in Burley was extremely pleasurable. This Hotel was no where near the same value. The breakfast was lacking in many categories. The only vending machines in the building only worked 1/3 of the time. The Pool was not open, which my kids were looking forward to. The room had only two trash cans placed in very inconvenient places. I could go on and on but all in all this was a HUGE dissapointment!
Gillette
This hotel was awesome. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. Staff were very nice. Continental breakfast was the best. Scrambled eggs, sausage, home fries, sausage gravy & biscuits, fresh fruit, pancakes and waffles, juices, soda and coffee, donuts, English muffins, toast, etc. The location was perfect distance from the Western Welding Academy, which is why we were visiting Wyoming. Beautiful place. Will definitely be back.
Quick stay in Gillette. Hotel was easily accessible and close to restaurants, pharmacy and grocery store. Walked to the Wyoming Rib and Chop House, which was very good. Room was clean and comfortable but nothing fancy. Check-in and check-out were fast and easy; staff was friendly. Exercise room was nice and clean. We would stay there again.
Cody
This is a fun and funky place to stay. It's just outside of town, but you get to enjoy the Wyoming countryside. We saw deer from our deck and pronghorn antelope on the drive out. Great breakfast and charming hosts. We stayed in the 1890's sheep herder's wagon. Where else do you get to do that? We had a blast!
We really appreciated Amy. She welcomed us, including our basset hound Wyatt, with open arms. The hotel is very convenient for traveler's in southeastern Wyoming. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. They have a nice area set aside for pets. The burritos at the adjacent Mexican restaurant are huge and delicious.
The hotel and room were exceptionally clean. The beds were comfortable and the shower was great. The key card that opens the door is the RFID type that you just tap against a pad by the door which works very well. There was plenty of parking and it is right next to the University of Wyoming campus by the War Memorial stadium.
I liked everything. Room and bath were spotlessly clean, quiet and very comfortable. Staff were efficient, attentive, helpful and very friendly. Good breakfast. Good WiFi. Convenient to restaurants and shopping. The hotel was once Wyoming’s largest flour mill. Such a creative reuse of a historic property.
I had access to a full refrigerator and microwave. I could save money by cooking my own oatmeal in the morning. :) The value for the room was perfect; the room was newly renovated too. Compared to the 3-star hotel in Nebraska, this stay in Wyoming was much, much better. I highly recommend!
Jackson
The Wyoming Inn of Jackson is wonderful - the rooms are comfortable, unique, and quiet. The restaurant has a great huveos ranchos and the staff is first rate. The hotel is pretty convenient (of course, Jackson Hole is pretty small), and the parking is free. Highly recommend.
Everything! We have been to 10 hotels over our 15 day trip from Maryland to Wyoming and this is hands down the best hotel. Breakfast was delicious and perfect. What was expected but never got anything close at any other hotel. The kids pool made my daughters trip!!
Really good breakfast, great location close to I-25 and Wyoming BLVD. Very friendly and helpful staff, very clean room and great room service. Nice swimming pool and spa. I will definitely stay at this hotel again the next time I'm in Casper.
comfortable bed, pleasant front desk clerks, clean room. the potato, egg and sausage scramble at breakfast was unexpected and tasty. we stay in Cheyenne to eat at the Wyoming Rib and Chop House, and this hotel is right down the road from that.
For some reason, all the hotels in Wyoming are overpriced, as compared to other non Metro areas. This is an excellent hotel, but a little pricey. The options didn't look good, so we chose this one, glad we did.
Jackson
Location, location, location!!! this property doesn’t have any frills, but who comes to Wyoming to stay in their hotel? Angie and Brandy at the front desk were awesome and have great recommendations.
Manager is amazing goes above and behind to make sure you're stay here is good and your comfy I reccom3nd this hotel if your traveling thru sheridan wyoming ...it's quiet...safe ..and clean
Cody
Hotel outside of town near 3 lakes, birdwatching, nice easy breakfast with great coffee. 1/2 hr from elk, buffalo, eagles, pronghorn and gorgeous Wyoming scenery and much more. Love Cody
First time in Cheyenne Wyoming. We did not know the area so were skeptical about the location and quality of the hotel. It was super clean and convenient. Thank you for a great stay.
