Good equipped supermarket "Cazou" near by in Santa Maria by taxi for 4€. Beautiful Melia resort / pools with nice staff and reasonable prices for drinks / eat a la carte is good if wished from time to time. Nearby tropical garden Vivero is extremely beautiful to visit. Also beaches nearby. Golf course nearby. Green Fee around 100 € + Equipment to rent. I relaxed alot there. Santa Maria town is beautiful with dream beaches and locations for eat and drink for 4€ by taxi / 5€ later at night. Fresh meat is exceptional tasty good by CV animals at Cazou supermarket. No factory farming at Cabo Verde.

One of the best stays in Sal!! Unbeatable view!! The deck overlooks the beach and allows for a sunset observation through the palms :) As for the apartment, the wifi was stable and strong, and the AC in the bedroom was great :) We loved how easy it was to get around; walk down the stairs and you're at the beach or on the main shopping street! It was surprisingly quiet for being in such a central spot! The bed was totally comfy and a classic Cape Verde spring mattress. There was another small twin bed in the living room which was a lot more springy, but still ok for sleeping. But by far the value for the that view and location is untouchable. The kitchen at the restaurant downstairs let us use plates and forks for cooking in the apt :) Shower was warm with good water pressure.
