Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt is difficult to findy anything not to like. maybe the 6.00 am cockerel outside? Only thing I would ask for, would be ability to make a coffee in the room,
breakfast was great and one of the best I have had, a small hotel with friendly staff and lovely room which lived up to expectations, the ensuite bathroom was lovely and clean as well as having a great shower, something that has often let down other hotels.

PortugalBreakfast is a little poor, especially for vegetarians and vegans - soy or almond milk and a few more fruits would go a long way. There's no lift so those with mobility issues might find it a little difficult.
Charming hotel in the perfect location for exploring Tirana on foot. Room warm and comfortable with beautiful antique decor throughout the hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Parking in front of the door (Book in advance). Perfect.

United StatesThere is no elevator, but the staff was always there to help with luggage.
The hotel is perfectly located between the new bazaar and Skenderbeg square. It is close to restaurants, bars, shopping, and sightseeing in downtown Tirana. We were able to walk to everything. The staff is very helpful and the breakfast was very good. The hotel is beautiful.

United KingdomAll was perfect.
Last weekend, we stayed at the Brilant Antik Hotel in Tirana. And I have to say that choosing this hotel was a very good decision. Of course, we saw all the good reviews this hotel had, so we did have quite high expectations. And I am pleased to say that reality exceeded expectations. 1. Hotel Brilant Antik Hotel is situated in the heart of Tirana, within walking distance of all the main places to see in Tirana. You need about 10 minutes to go to Main Square, New Bazar, and Castle. Although in the centre of the town, the hotel itself stands about 200 meters from the main road, so you do not hear busy street noise. 2. Communication with the hotel From the moment we booked our stay until the last moment of it, there were never problems with fast and efficient communication with the hotel. We got replies on Booking.com, but mainly we stayed in contact with the hotel manager 3. Room. We stayed in the Deluxe Twin Room. And again, it exceeded our expectations. Two huge wooden and very stylish beds, a comfortable mattress, pillow, and duvet. What else would one need to have a good sleep? The room was very tastefully decorated in old Albanian style, with an interesting wooden ornament on the ceiling, wooden chairs, tables, bedside tables, some carpets, and, of course, a huge two-door wooden wardrobe. There was also a minibar and television with access to YouTube and some streaming services (not that we watched it). Room is also equipped with extremely efficient and surprisingly quiet air-con unit. 5. Breakfast. For our own convenience with reservations, we made sure that we would have breakfast included. And again, we do not regret it. Summarizing. The Brilant Antik Hotel is definitely a place we can recommend to anyone. Reasonably priced, perfectly located, and greatly and tastefully decorated, it gives you that good feeling and lets you enjoy your holiday.

United KingdomThis is just personal preference, but the only thing missing from our room was a bedside lamp - we had to rely on the main light and it would have been nice to have a small lamp to use.
The property was in a fantastic but lovely and quiet location in beautiful Tirana - approx. 5 mins walk from Skanderberg Square, the New Bazaar, and the bus stop which goes to Dajti Express and Tirana Airport. The hotel itself has a wonderful old charm - the wooden handmade furniture throughout the property is unique, and the property is very homely and cosy. The staff are super friendly, helpful and welcoming. We had a double room, up two flights of stairs (note: the property is historic and as such, I didn’t spy an elevator) - the room was very clean, comfortable, had air con and a mini fridge/bar. Breakfast was included and although it wasn’t a massive spread (which is understandable given the small size of the hotel) it was tasty, plentiful and offered a full tummy for sightseeing on - there was a selection of cheeses and meats, cereals, bread, salad, eggs, spreads (jam, chocolate etc.), pastries, coffee and juices. Most of all, the price of our stay was unbeatable given the location, high standard of the property, and that breakfast was included - I would highly recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

United KingdomI have not complaints except the fact that the Booking.com confirmation stated The cost per Night on the Confirmation plus the Tax and City tax and this would be charged/handled by the hotel which was ok. I was surprised when the gentleman at reception advised us we had to pay an additional 2 Euro pp per day Tourist Tax, which was never mentioned by booking.com. This should be looked at as it avoids disappointment.
The breakfast was continental style and speciality coffees were included and tasty. Everything was enjoyable.

TurkeyNoise isolation wasn't great, you could hear other rooms a bit. The tv is quite small, with the distance from the bed; we preferred using the laptop instead of watching from tv. Breakfast wasn't impressive, but fulfilling and tasty.
We liked pretty much everything about the hotel. The antique ambient and decorations were everywhere, which was lovely. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, felt like staying at friends. Location... probably the best. Walking distance to pretty much everything in tirana, never needed to use public transportation. Very satisfied.
