Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandThe only downside of this hotel is that it is right by the main road, so it's quite noisy. Note that this hotel is a 10min walk from the (old) town center.
Very nice modern and spacious room and bathroom, just as in the pictures. You can see the bridge and the old town from the room and balcony (photo attached, unfortunately it was raining). Unfortunately, the balcony also overlooks a restaurant, so people can see into the room if the curtains aren't drawn. Just across the bridge from the hotel are various good restaurants (2-5min walk). The receptionist provided some recommendations for things to do, which was a nice touch. There is also a bottle of red and white wine from a nearby winery in the room that can be purchased for 12€ (didn't try it, so can't say if it's good). There's ample space for parking and you can pay by card.

GermanyEven though the bed was very comfortable and had a proper duvet (definitely not the case in all Albanian hotels), it was squeaking a bit when moving
Perfect location with old town, restaurants and castle in walking distance, plenty of parking space right behind the hotel, spacious and modern rooms, refillable bathroom amenities, card payment possible (definitely not the case in all Albanian hotels), very friendly and helpful staff

GermanyLittle things: the mattress of the single bed wasn’t as comfortable and there could be more hooks or shelves to hang/store stuff in the bathroom, especially in the room for three people.
The location of the hotel is good, and one can park at the hotel. The rooms are spacious, welcoming and nicely decorated. The double beds were comfortable and the breakfast was good too. Good value for money!

RomaniaI would not say that there was something in particular i did not like, but the breakfast was not exactly our style.
The staff was super friendly and they provided all the necessary info on where to go and what to do - speaking excellent English by the way. They took care of everything that needed booking. The room it was stupendous. Excellent matress and large, comfy and nicely decorated room. If we ever get back to Berat we would stay at the same hotel. It looks exactly like the pictures or even better. And on top of all that hotel is located exactly near Gorica bridge

GermanyRooms don’t have soundproofing and it was a little loud during the night but this maybe a fault of other guests more than the hotel.

We loved everything about our stay here! The staff were so friendly and helpful, especially Enri who helped us to organise a last minute tour and taxi rides at short notice. The room was big, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The hotel is in a great location close to the centre.

SwitzerlandWasn't abel to find the parking at first but after I passed the hotel by car and called the staff, thymey gave me detailled information so I was able to finde it quickly.
Very nice rooms with well thought details. Comfortable beds interior is amazing. Shower was very clean so did the room in general. We even had a candle in our room. Perfect view to the bridge and river. On site parking available. We went actually for breakfast and just wanted a coffe and a fresh juice. We got instead a nice plate with veggies, an egg and meat served with some bred and traditional fried bread. The staff was very helpful. They gave us informations and recommandations for activities and restaurants, took their time to show us the room but also explaining everything related to the hotel. Location was easy to find and we loved that we werent in the middle of the city. With a short walk your in the middle of Berat. While walking to the center you can admire the scenery. I was just amazing. Will def. Come back again.

United StatesVery clean, comfortable, friendly staff, and DELICIOUS breakfast. I only stayed one night while passing through from Tirana to Himare, but I would definitely stay there again. I'm a solo female traveler and felt very safe in the hotel and town. It's also right at the bottom of a hill that'll take you a back way to the castle, which was a great way to get there while passing by locals on their evening strolls. Don't miss the sunsets in Berat!

SwitzerlandEverything was perfect
The hotel is located at the roundabout that leads to the city which is perfect so you don't get stuck in the traffic. Parking was appreciated. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Lovely spacious room with view of the old bridge and the town. Loved the 1 plate breakfast which changes from the breakfast buffets in hotels. I can certainly recommend.

GermanyNo critic. Exceeded our expectations.
The hotel is located right at the roundabout that leads to the city. Parking spots are in the yard of the hotel or right on the side of the street on the promenade, just a few meters away. Staff was very proactive and friendly, without being annoying. The rooms (we had view on the city) were an absolute blast. Very modern interior, perfectly equipped bathroom, a fridge to cool down some of our snacks and our water. You cannot ask for more. Breakfast is a typical „1 menue“ that includes bread, egg, sausage, cucumber and tomato and small blocks of white cheese as well as „pancakes“ which are more like fried dough balls that come with Marmelade. Very tasty! Vegans/Vegetarians should ask before being served not to be surprised by the two sausages, the egg and cheese. Coffee was, as typical, a perfectly brewed strong americano.
