This was not our first stay at this hotel, and we keep coming back for a reason! Incredibly kind family who runs the place. The food they serve is absolutely delicious. The rooms are really beautiful and traditionally Albanian. The area within the old castle walls is gorgeous in general, and the hotel feels like a little dreamy nook within it.

One window shutter was missing in the room which meant light came in early. A bit of noise from the bar downstairs as expected.

Great location in a historic building. Friendly staff who were really helpful. Nice restaurant attached, parking available. Breakfast was great. Room was clean and comfortable.

This is a great option if you want to stay in Berat (which I recommend, because most tour groups don't, so after 5PM you'll have the castle to yourself). Host was super friendly and the room was clean and well-furnished. The attached restaurant is also probably the best dining option in the castle area - great lunch, and breakfast was actually too much food!

Wonderful family, all very hospitable with Ksenofon making sure you start your day with a smile. Very pretty and perfectly clean rooms, with all the details necessary to make it super comfortable. The view from our windows was amazing, the location is perfect right in the castle, and the breakfast was very rich and delicious. Also the food in the restaurant was amazing. Hope to return soon!

Very pretty authentic hotel, in the heart of the citadel. Family hotel With a warm and generous welcome. Xenophon took great care of us and his mother and grandmother cooked very good food. The breakfast was plentiful and varied. We have We really enjoyed our night at their place. Best wishes.

an absolute unique experience in the heart of Berat! we arrived round 10:00 pm and was able to eat something in the hotel restaurant. best stuffed aubergines i’ve ever had! the room was very atmospheric with comfortable beds. very good breakfast. hotel is run by the family, the host is an amazing guy who helped us with drive up and down, cause it’s super steep to go there.

It was all good!

Hotel Klea, nestled within Berat Castle, is truly a gem. Our room, with a great view of the mountains, was small but comfortable for the two of us. Breakfast each morning was a delicious spread of eggs, yogurt, jam, fruit, bread, Albanian pie and sweet rolls, all organic and handmade. Each morning fresh fruit and vegetables from a neighbor’s garden was delivered. The family that runs this hotel are hardworking, friendly and catered to all our needs. Special recognition goes to Ksenofon, whose engaging personality and helpful attitude made our stay a memorable one.

Everything was good

It's a beautiful place situated within an old castle, yet the parking is free and just steps away from the hotel entrance. The while atmosphere was special, the food in the hotel restaurant was good, but nothing compared to the warm welcome we received from the host. Thank you! If I ever come to Berat again, I will definitely stay in this hotel again.

If we have to find something: the beds were a bit hard. But that didn’t bother us.

Exquisite stay with the most wonderful host at a unique location. The host is a super welcoming, entertaining and warm person. He wants his guests to have the best time. Also great cooks preparing delicious dishes. Besides breakfast, you can get lunch and dinner too. Our room had a wonderful view of the surrounding area. Several terraces. If we come back to Berat, we will definitely stay here again!

I wish I could have stayed longer.

Staying within the walls of a medieval castle was a lifetime experience in itself for me. On top of that the owners are wonderful people with such a natural way of hospitality that I felt myself at home during my whole stay.

I liked EVERYTHING. The room was super cosy with amazing views to the mountains. Price was great for all that I got. Amazing food, homemade by the family. Breakfast was fantastic and the charisma and attention of Ksenofon.
