How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Super nice stuff, very good location, if you plan to travel with buses among cities, this hotel is mid-point of old town and bus terminal, each way 17 mins by walking.

Hi! I really enjoyed the conditions; I had a room with a double bed and 1 single bed, and it was very clean. Additionally, there was hot and cold water according to our preferences. There was air conditioning and TV + wifi. Everything was great! 😊

It was very comfortable, the people working there are very accommodating and helpful. The food at the restaurant was really good, we had baked chicken and fries. The location is good if you go with car or don't mind walking to the old town.

Wonderful boutique accommodation within easy walking distance to the heart of Berat. The owner and his family were extremely attentive. The room we had was modern and very clean with easily the best shower facility we have had in our travels. The accommodation comes with a courtyard where you can safely park your car. The restaurant at the front of property is run by the owner and serves delicious well priced food from breakfast to dinner. We had a wonderful stay.

The Rus Villa was everything that I wanted for my stay in Berat! It was clean. It was comfortable. It was convenient. Some have not liked the location of this place, but I thought it was excellent! I arrived via bus and it was a little more than a kilometer walk from the stop. Likewise, it was a kilometer and a half or so from the center of Berat in the other direction. That put me right in the middle of where I needed to be. I arrived early and since no one had been in the room the night before, I was able to check in, right away. That was a big bonus. There is also a restaurant associated with the hotel and I thought it was quite good. The room was a bit small, but it was all that I needed. I am happy with my decision to stay at the Rus Villa!

We booked two rooms as we were traveling with friends and the second room did not have adequate bedding for the colder weather. Additionally, the window in our bedroom did not lock. It didn't bother us as we feel very safe in Albania, but it is something that should be addressed by the property.
We had a good stay at Rus Villa. Our room was clean and warm with a comfortable bed and nice bathroom. The area seems very nice and quiet, also.

Rooms were really clean and comfortable. Location was perfect, just a short walk to the town centre in a quiet area, with shops, restaurants and bars nearby. Rus himself was very friendly and full of good advice. Excellent value for money and thoroughly recommended.

The room was very clean, the bed is confortable. WC ok also. Small fridge inside the room. You can use a common kitchen and use the washing machine. Parking outside, very easy when i was there. Perfect value for money.
