How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The hosts were wonderful to us, they made us fell like home! We were welcomed by a nice young girl that spoke very good English! They gave us a bottle of wine as a welcome gift. We were supposed to leave the apartment in the next morning but they let us leave our car until the afternoon so we could explore the city! They had a small cat that was the nicest cat that we knew. The city is wonderful, we really enjoyed it and this was probably the best place that we have stayed in our experience throughout Albania. Thank you very much for everything

Loved everything.
These hosts are simply the best you will find anywhere, and their home reflects that 100%. Lovely people and the daughter speaks English very well.

We stayed 2 nights by this lovely family. They are very friendly.. The room was clean, enough space, also the bathroom is spacious. A good breakfast in the lovely garden. Parking space. If you need a place to sleep, book by this lovely family.

Nothing, it was perfect.
It was absolutely amazing! Very nice place to relax, beautiful property, a great room, and the hosts were incredibly kind and hospitable. The homemade wine and Raki they served us was actually the best I’ve had, and the breakfast was delicious. Could not recommend this place enough!

Very nice and friendly owners. Close to the city centre. Super clean and quiet room. Great breakfast served in the beautiful garden. Free private parking space. The husband is also a mechanic and he checked our Van before leaving. Thank you very much for everything!

We were warmly welcomed by a nice couple and their daughter. They've waited for our arrival at night and even helped us parking within the building in the rain. The room was very clean and comfortable and had water in the fridge. The breakfast was very typical and with delicious homemade pie and jams. It was served in the garden with a lovely setting. It was a lovely stay, highly recommend it!!!

We would recommend Vila Ajdinaj to everyone! The place is nice, clean and the best part are the host ls who are always kind and super welcoming. The breakfast is amazing! The place is not in the city center but it is close enough to reach the main locations in 15mins. For us it was perfect because it was not noisy , we could walk a bit within the city and park easily in the parking of the building

The apartment is close to the city center, it is very well-equipped and convenient, the garden - where we got the breakfast - is beautiful. The owner family is very kind, friendly, they always looked forward our wishes. The breakfast was wonderful!

a bit far from the center, 25min walk.
This one deserves special recognition. Unusual quality for Albanian reality. Nicely renovated apartment, very clean, new. Nice and helpful owners. Their daughter played significant role as only she could speak English (very good!) and was also very helpful - thank you! Perfect breakfast served outside in the patio. Big parking just next to the entrance, inside the property. Easy to find.

Everything was perfect !!
Our trip was for one night only. We booked 2 rooms which I found to be of exemplary cleanliness. Very soft sheets and towels and the hosts very welcoming and ready to satisfy our every request. they offered us a snack upon our arrival and the breakfast was made at home by the hostess all very good and to our liking. We will come back for sure !!!
