Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe only negative I can think of is that you must cross a busy highway, with no lights or crosswalks, if you want to walk into town. On the other hand, you can take a taxi into town for prices ranging from $1.50 to $5.00 maximum. But you will need a phone and probably cash (Armenian drams). I recommend picking up a local SIM card (mine cost me $15 for unlimited calls and data for 3 days) and changing a little currency at the airport before you get into town. I was quite happy to take advantage of the guest house's own transportation services for getting to and from the airport, and found it easy to use taxis to go into town, though I did cross the highway and walked there on two different occasions.
Khachatur and his family were helpful in multiple ways. We used their transportation services on multiple occasions, including one half day tour into the countryside. We got important advice on taxis and SIM cards. Breakfast was ample, with a number of choices, including free range eggs laid by the family's own small flock of hens. I really appreciated the many personal touches of this guest house.

GermanyOnly small negative point is that the hotel is located next to bigger street. Inside no problem, windows cover the noise very good. But when sitting on the balcony it is quite loud.
Khachatur jan was a very good host. All wishes were fulfilled, no matter what. The breakfast is almost only made from things in their own garden, many options, all very delicious.

QatarI can't think of any negative comment about our stay at hillside.
The owner of the guest house was so amazingly helpful and knowledgeable about everything that Yerevan had to offer. Any hour of the day he was available and responsive to every question and need that we had. A very relaxing, comfortable and accommodating place to stay in Armenia. I would definitely recommend and encourage anyone looking for a place to stay in Yerevan to stay at Hillside.

United Arab EmiratesI love that it’s very clean and well maintained. Plus the great morning view with cold breeze in the morning or night during autumn. Despite the distance from the city center, it was worth it. The location is still very accessible by taxis or by walking. We had a great stay because the host Khachatur was very hospitable and accommodating to our requests/questions. Overall our short stay was awesome! I wish to come back again and will choose to stay here! Highly recommended! Perfect for couples/friends/solos!

Czech RepublicFor the first time the location seemed to be uncomfortable. But then I've found a fast route to the city centre on foot. And the taxi is really cheap and fast to come. So it's worth the view from the Hillside balcony to whole Yerevan centre, including The Cascade.
Room was very nice, modern and clean. The same with bathroom. Communication with Khachatur perfect. Fast responding and helpful. Breakfast brought into my room every morning with possibility to choose of more menu's. View from the balcony is marvelous. Basic accessories for hygiene and refreshments was also enough.

IndiaLocation was a little difficult to find initially, but Khachatur was on the phone with our driver and it got sorted pretty quickly.
Khachatur is a great host and made us feel very welcome. The homestay is brand new, everything is crisp and clean. Rooms have nice spacious balcony to enjoy the view of the city. Tasty homemade breakfast (with quite a few options) is provided. Bed is comfortable. Room also features a Tv, sofa, fridge, kettle - everything you need to have a comfortable stay. Lobby has a cooler with mineral water - very thoughtful feature, when temperatures outside get soaring
