Loved the space in the common area, so nice to relax and take in the view over the town towards the lake. Staff were super friendly and helpful.

Sometimes with the tours things weren’t clear, like I went on mini trekking and was told I was supposed to bring cash and lunch but the hostel worker didn’t give me that info. Other than that they were awesome and very friendly!

There is floor heating at night which is a bit too much, sometimes it's hard to fall asleep with.

Bathrooms in the rooms aren't the best idea, you can't get ready without waking everyone else up. Shower overflows into the dry area in the shower room so the floor is all wet when trying to get dressed.

The communal area is awesome, lots of people hanging out at night plus a restraunt and bar, super cosy with a fire lit every night and plenty of space for everyone.

Everything actually one of the best hostels I’ve been in-the breakfast that’s included is great,very very social,always clean and tidy and very accommodating staff (I forgot something in the room and they reserved it for me for several days,got me a taxi a couple of times)

The kitchen was nice, but not very spacious for the size of the hostel so it got really crowded some nights. There were also not enough pots/pans for the amount of stove space and number of people trying to cook in the evening.

We had a great stay in the 6-bed mixed dorm at America del Sur Hostel! The beds were comfortable, the dorms had lockable storage units, and the toilet/shower/sink were all separate which was really nice for a shared bathroom space. The main area of the hostel was comfortable with places to lounge indoors and outdoors, and the views were incredible. The free breakfast was self-serve and good. All of the staff were really nice and super helpful any time we had a question. The location was a quieter street and an easy walking distance to both the town and the bus station.

On the BBQ nights, it reeks everywhere of just meat, so be wary of this if you're a vegetarian. Especially because even if you're just sitting in the main area, your clothes will smell like a parrilla. But also, it's cool that they offer this for your to be able to eat with other people in the hostel.

The staff is fantastic and super helpful in planning, coordinating, just talking, and everything in between - in Spanish and English. The main area is great for hanging out, doing work, or just sitting. Breakfast was basic but good, and meeting other people is easy here. The rooms were cleaned every day, and even your bed is made! Stayed here at the beginning of my time in Calafate, left to Chalten, and then returned afterwards because I liked it. Maybe a 15m walk from the bus station and a 15 minute walk to the main visitors part of town.

The bunk I was on had been put in backwards so the ladder part was against the wall, had to use the other end. Not the end of the world of course but I had hurt my knee and I'm short 🤣 so it was slightly awkward

Amazing open common area with stunning outlook. Staff were very friendly and helpful and could help with all tours. Walk into town was about 10mins with a hill. Great vibes

On-suite bathrooms - No privacy and annoying early in the morning and late at night.

Bed sheet was not well fitted and kept moving. Breakfast was good but basic.

It was a bit on the expensive side. There was also a big mix of people here including families etc. - Not necessarily a bad thing but not a typical backpacker hostel so it could potentially be more difficult to make friends for solo travellers.

The common area was lovely and cosy. It was lovely to be able to sit by the fire and look out at the beautiful view. The dorm rooms are comfortable, the breakfast was good and the staff were friendly.

This is a super nice hostel with amazing staff. Nice common area and garden. Good breakfast is included. Great atmosphere and very easy to meet people.

The kitchen had few facilities and guests didn’t seem to clean up well after cooking. Only one general toilet for the whole hostel other than one in the dorm. The general one was not kept clean enough as it was not monitored regularly.
